Here in SC according to who pulls you, you can get fined over $100.

I was with someone not long ago that knew her DL numbers and they were on her checks but she had lost the license itself (couldn't find her license for about a week before this incident) and the popo could not have been less interested. lol The ONLY reason they let her "go" is because they admitted they knew when they stopped her she had a license and even where she had her insurance. lol She was pulled because a brake light was out.

When they pull you, by the time they get back to your car, they always know if you have a license, where you have insurance and if there are any outstanding warrants on you. :D

theyre starting to use those cameras here like at the border and can run plates automatic while they drive ....catching lots of suspended drivers like that now...plus the police are connected directly to insurance database they already know if you have it before they even pull you over

lot of times they just park in a busy spot and let the computer do its work while they sit there waiting for some sucker to drive by

    but proof is still needed...

my last ticket was for failing to provide proof of insurance...since then i keep a copy in each car AND a copy in my wallet that has all my cars listed on the policy

apparently you can block those cameras by using a reflective clearcoat spray on plates so the whole thing glows and they cant pick out the digits

Yeah, and there's also these reflective plates that like, it shows your number to everyone like normal but somehow when the police scan it, it shows up as a different number? Kinda like polarity sun glasses, sometimes you see things that aren't there. I think? I dunno. Makes sense to me. I was talking to a friend about it and he'd gotten his plates out of Africa. From memory, Ghana was big on it.

I don't mind if suspended drivers get busted though tbh.

And is a fine here too, Lynn. It's always in my mobile phone cover though, and my mobile phone is always on me so it's always with me. Unless... Okay unless I'm going round the corner to the shop or out for coffee. But then miss and I always have a phone on us just in case.

im so worn out. hubby got called into work. it will keep his mind busy, but it sucks to be expected to do anything after you bury your grandmother (and, surprise! his mom's ashes were on his grandfathers headstone, so he got to spread them out today too)

i handled the baby, kept him from screeching, and mostly without a carrier (i didnt think it was appropriate funeral attire) and he really needed a nap. so now my arms, shoulders, back and legs are killing me (squats +20 lbs picking up whatever he dropped) and i was kind of counting on having the extra adult arms afterward. so its gonna be a rough evening.

i hate when people dont stop for school buses. i was a flagger in elementary school in virginia. it was a responsibility i took very seriously. you would have a hard time giving a kid that responsibility now, too much risk! and drivers are ridiculous, they blow by on the opposing side, on the same side, on the shoulder! there are some really horrifying videos showing that kind of thing. its so dumb, theres no respect for other people. then again, nowadays the buses are unruly as well, you probably wouldnt have many kids worthy of the responsibility now. now they have to have an added adult to referee the kids. i sat in my seat. we shut the hell up. and if it did get out of hand, the bus driver would just pull over and yell at us. i wish my kids could grow up in that world.

9 year old got an in school suspension for tossing an empty water bottle to a kid, and apparently the kids lunchbox later on. i dont know if it hit him, and frankly i have trouble with him tossing stuff at the last minute when i have asked him to hand something to me, but really? was a nose broken? is there blood? or just hurt feelings? because you have allowed the other kids to pick on mine for YEARS with zero regard for his feelings. he just wants friends, he just wants to fit in to your moron box, and you cant handle that hes too smart for it.
when i was in kindergarten, a boy asked me for a pencil. i tossed one to him. it poked him in the eye. i felt horrible, it was an accident, and i wasnt in "trouble" but i learned a fucking lesson. dont throw pencils/ sharp things. the other kids labeled me a racist, because the boy was black, and i didnt know what that meant, because he wasnt any different to me, but the kids called me a racist after that, and i learned, and i had to ask my parents about it. but i wasnt in trouble with the school for the tossing of the pencil.

you need an environment in which to test and learn social graces. that no longer exists in the public school system. its just not worth it. i can put him into extra curriculars that can help him with his socializing, but 90% of his problem is the other people. and i want to strangle people every day. he will never not have to deal with that, but as an adult you can reasonably expect most interactions with other adults to abide certain graces and rules. common courtesy. his generation is going to fall into very few groupings. the majority will be useless wastes of air. the smart ones will be exceptional, if they can make it out of the public school environment alive, and without a broken spirit.

those wildfires are insane. we get our share here, but not normally so close to structures and populations. it reminds me how little prepared we are, even if we try to be.

He needs to learn to play the social game. That is also part of being intelligent. He will figure that out but it will take being involved in social and learning to deal with systems. :)

Put him on a football team. :)
Or, some sort of sports? Chess club? Billiards club? :D
I like football or contact sport. 1) socialize with people you can lay a hit on. 2) exercise! Burn that energy. 3) boys love contact and a good old 4) sports = $$$$$ if you get into 'em. ;)

oh of course, but i want to have more control over the social groups hes exposed to. i can put him in martial arts, he can learn to follow rules and have respect. team sports, working together. 4H, responsibility. babysitting, hes almost old enough to take classes. archery, pottery, outdoorsy stuff. an instrument! we have a flute and a saxophone in need of repair, and a perfectly fine guitar. maybe he wants to play something else... theres no funding in band here. i quit playing clarinet when i started school out here. he socializes fine with people who act fine. its the lower echelons that hes being dragged into, just to fit in. i never wanted to fit in badly enough to dumb myself down, so i never had a lot of friends. or fun. but all he wants is to fit in. he will need social stuff, but he needs to be reset first. i just want him to have a few good years of no suspensions and feeling good about who he is, then he can go to public high school if he wants to. that wouldnt bother me. he has a rap sheet a mile long. and most of it is so dumb.

"joy to the world, the teachers dead
    we barbequed her head!
    but what about the body?
we flushed it down the potty!
    around around it goes
    around around it goes...."

and thats not even one of the worst ones i learned as a kid. in middle school i was drawing some very emo (before emo was a "thing" ) pictures and doodles. faceless torture. hangings. guillotines. pain... you cant get away with drawing your feelings anymore. but half or more of these little punks can fry their brains with cellphones and my kid isnt allowed to have feelings, but everyone elses feelings matter more than his....

i dunno. im just not going to deal with the public school system for a little while. its bad for him, and for me. we can try again when hes ready.

Irm- he loves sports. he would be well suited to basketball, track and field (maybe, he refuses to walk properly, probably needs inserts) lacrosse and soccer. maybe a kicker, or even a qb in football, but hes a wiry kid, i would worry about him getting broken.

(i cant believe i spelled soccer wrong the first time. i feel dumb, its been a long day.)

I had my 3 month eye appointment today and all is well. I was really anxious, but she said it was looking good and the eye surface was fine. Yay! I guess I worry they'll take them off me and being so used to them, I don't want that. But I am fine. :) now I do not need a check up for a whole 6 months!
