When your day is long And the night The night is yours alone When you're sure you've had enough Of this life Well hang on Don't let yourself go 'Cause everybody cries And everybody hurts sometimes Sometimes everything is wrong Now it's time to sing along When your day is night alone (hold on) (Hold on) if you feel like letting go (hold on) If you think you've had too much Of this life Well, hang on 'Cause everybody hurts Take comfort in your friends Everybody hurts Don't throw your hand Oh, no Don't throw your hand If you feel like you're alone No, no, no, you're not alone If you're on your own In this life The days and nights are long When you think you've had too much Of this life To hang on Well, everybody hurts sometimes Everybody cries And everybody hurts sometimes And everybody hurts sometimes So, hold on, hold on Hold on, hold on Hold on, hold on Hold on, hold on Everybody hurts You are not alone
Used to hate REM with a passion. But after about 2 hit singles you never heard from them again, so now I feel sorry for them
I really like this one. Very hopeful for when someone finds themselves in a terrible dark time. A little secret: I find regular pop songs and find ways to tie them to the Supreme Love (i.e. God, I'm a Unitarian Universalist so our idea of God is fluid and is all about love and acceptance). This some could easily be said to be God or Love talking to someone who is deeply depressed. In my opinion. I like it though, really good one.
.....and becuase Stipe was one of those tossers who thought people actually care about a musicians political opinions because they like a few of their songs
I like REM's music but can understand why people have a problem with Stipe. He did get a bit up himself. But, you know, everybody hurts.
Live Aid, the whole time Bob Geldof was just doing it to get himself rich, and everybody fell for it, current net worth $150 million Whats that got to do with Stipe? Same thing, plenty of wealthy people out there that give to causes you dont hear about becuase its not about self promotion
I like REM we played that song at my wife's brothers funeral he was a Schizophrenic and always trying to hurt himself ! Sad song but of hope
