Ever Read the Song of Solomon?

It's a book of the Old Testament. Although you'd hardly know it. Few people mention it. And I never hear people quote it. Even if they are apt to quote the Bible frequently.

And there may be a good reason for it. It is dirty! Some parts are even pornographic (even by the Miller Test).

It is about the sexual liaison between a dark-skinned girl and a man. Some justify it by saying that they are in fact married. That is never stated. And even if they were, that doesn't change the fact how dirty it is.

Me, I have no problem with frank human sexuality, between consenting adults. But I just wonder why so many religious people try to avoid it.

What do the rest of you think (Christians included)?

 

I don't think it "dirty" at all; I think it's quite beautiful.
