A kind of internet domino theory? Could happen. The end of net neutrality is certainly a step in the "right" direction.

The internet is unlimited information. It's free education. And we all know what an educated populace can do...

  2. It really seems like everyone's acting like this isn't a big issue.
So I text a friend who's an assistant of a Croatian MEP in Bruxelles.
And he's like "I don't know, no one's really talking about it" :tearsofjoy:

I'm not so sure. The internet is more than just an information repository (and most excellent porno source). It's also an economy unto itself, a virtual non-nation when it's working as it should. Trying to put a muzzle on it will likely backfire and money that might have been made by these punitive nations will evaporate almost overnight. After all, if it's not engaging or people suddenly fear being connected, how will the tyrants score a buck?

  4. Gotta love celeb lobbying.
If it's Paul McCartney vs. Stephen Fry, I know whose side I'm on.

    Lol, funny., but seriously!

Don’t count on it. Trudeau has his head up the ass of the EU and the UN.

Funny that he is more concerned with clean water for developing nations, his mothers organization wateraid canada) but can’t even supply clean water to Canadians! He is more interested in the global stage (UN) than that of the canadian people.

Meanwhile, the liberals approved, let China take control of a canadian company with close links to our national security, despite CSIS and the Department of nation defence strongly opposing the sale of IFT Technologies But I guess that makes sense too since he admires China and its politics.

Liberals privatizing hydro one, using ontario tax payers money to build roads (407), making it a toll roads and then selling the roads off to foreign countries closing ontario place for the last 5 years, then attempting tosll the land Sell the labd which was built by the people for the people.

Justin Trudeau stated, regarding new immigrants to Canada “You chose this country. This is your country more than it is for others (Canadians) because we (Canadians) take it for granted”

We do have a carbon tax. Not to worry, the libs will find a way to tax it, just give it time.

Another thing we have in Canada is a media watch dog, liberal funded by the way called
    The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council

Not to mention the CRTC, which licences broadcasting in Canada and monitors canadian content. They approved Al Jazeera broadcasting in Canada but banned Howard stern.

Says a lot about the direction this country is heading. Funny too is they they approved the Arabic speaking one but not the English one. English speaking people will not have a clue as to what Hateful rhetoric they are spewing.

Liberal budget explores options for media funding in digital age

I do wonder who these funds will be given to, and whose opinions will be worthy of the funds.

It would be nice if people had the fortitude to unite and cancel our services for a month in protest. Utilities, corporations and governments would shit themselves. As consumers we do have a say, with our checkbooks. Don't bend over and pay for over pricing, and over restricting, and copyright over policing...

  16. Let's see how lobbyists did.
