The major difference between the conservative and liberal mind is their ideas regarding the role of government. The conservative wants the rule the law to be based on moral principles, whereas liberals believe it should be ethically based. The problem with a morally-based system is that they have a tendency to trample and marginal those who do not conform to a certain demographic or religion, often resulting in sexism, prejudice, xenophobia, intolerance, etc...
I can't imagine any part of the brain that would drive someone to perform this horrific act....................
Merriam-Webster lists "morality" and "morals" as synonyms of the word "ethic", with the caveat that in colloquial usage, "Morals often describes one's particular values concerning what is right and what is wrong. While ethics can refer broadly to moral principles, one often sees it applied to questions of correct behavior within a relatively narrow area of activity. Morals usually connotes an element of subjective preference, while ethics tends to suggest aspects of universal fairness and the question of whether or not an action is responsible."
No, Sadly it's only too real Remington is trying to humiliate the parents after the Supreme Court decided the Sandy Hook families can sue the gun maker..
Hey, at least a gun isn't a choking hazard.....have you seen the toys that kinder surprise tries to get unsuspecting children to ingest??? It's tantamount to murder......cloaked in chocolate....sinister bastards.....
Both arguments are based on the false assumption that classic logic describes reality as we know it, when all the evidence indicates its a gross over-simplification. The brain itself is a self-organizing system, meaning morality and conscious thought emerge from the proximity of syntax in the brain, and morality is derived from metaethics. Without either party referring to the actual physical evidence, they can argue forever and get nowhere. Politics suck, but only because complete idiots insist everything must make sense to them personally, often based on bulshit they've been spoonfed by other idiots, who insist they must do something, even if they have no clue what the fuck their doing, and are relying on 2,000 year old logic.
So the argument is Remington was just trying to save society from potential troublemakers? I'd hate to be their lawyer. If the jury gets wind of this, the punitive damages should be stratospheric.
Morals refer mainly to guiding principles, and ethics refer to specific rules and actions, or behaviors. What's The Difference Between Morals And Ethics? Or is it: ethics refer to rules provided by an external source, e.g., codes of conduct in workplaces or principles in religions. Morals refer to an individual’s own principles regarding right and wrong. Or maybe "ethics refer to rules provided by an external source, e.g., codes of conduct in workplaces or principles in religions. Morals refer to an individual’s own principles regarding right and wrong." Ethics vs. Morals – What’s the Difference? - Writing Explained Or "(p)ut simply, morals are the customs established by group of individuals whereas ethics defines the character of an individual." Anyhow, they seem to be related but different. I don't think Republican politicians have either of them--at least that they actually follow instead of preach. As for the role of government, small government was then, fascism is now--where the Republican base is concerned..
Judge bars Rep. Fortenberry from being alone with evidence A federal judge has ordered U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska not to be left alone with any evidence related to charges that he lied to FBI agents about illegal foreign donations to his campaign The Judge is effectively saying that there is a high risk that as US Congressional Representative (GOP) will destroy incriminating evidence..wow
