we work with what we have, and we test our theories and observations rigorously in every way we can think of. new knowledge will always come (maybe) . . . that doesn't mean we don't take what we know today seriously.
When it comes to science, a scientific theory is not defined the same as the dictionary's definition of the word. http://www.livescience.com/21491-what-is-a-scientific-theory-definition-of-theory.html
Knowledge and education can only do so much for your entirety of being. To UNKNOW EVERYTHING, is actually of greater wisdom. It's a greater aspiration to delve into Divine Ignorance. Judge as you may.
Study any of what? Are you referring specifically to kundalini? If you're referring to consciousness, science is studying it. Harris' point was that we'll never be able to show that the brain generates consciousness through causation because we have to rely on subjective reports of various brain states. Science has studied other phenomena as well such as prayer and meditation, which has already been stated in this thread.
In the context I was using above my use of the word "theory" is the scientific version. They can throw all the tests/tools/measurements at something they want to and "prove" something... until future tests/tools/measurements proves it wrong or not completely correct. Get out your dictionary... "theory" is theory. Note also edumacation isn't education.
Lol, quality video... it's almost as if that discussion was meant for this thread and the ongoing points of contension.
this whole thread has been like that for me, the synchroni, ities are what is catching attention and it appears to me that the phenomenal world keeps pace with our attention. Simply said we find what we look for yet my experience is in this instance I dont have to do much looking, its like everything we reach for turns out to be germain to the subject.
myriads of things: my desires, my reason, my intuition, authorities in my life, the media, my various known and unknown psychological drives and motives, biological impulses . . .
My observation is that we are all guided by the fundamental reason that there there is good for us in life and we must have it. There are many personal determinations of what that looks like. The measure of the validity of you choices lies in the quality or estate of your inner experience. If you have found yourself disgusted it was by virtue of your own determinations however disgust is not a quality of matter but an abstraction brought on by the terms used to describe the situation. The energetic forces we in fact deal with are absorption refection and polarity.
What makes words manifest to experience is that they are vibrationally or emotionally endowed. To embrace a word calls upon it's inner condition within yourself and in turn you share this emotional conditioning with others.
