I wasn't of age when Metallica released the Black Album, so I don't really have a pulse on what it was like, although I do know that that's when some of their hardcore fans started calling them sell outs. But you got to remember their bass player died a few years earlier and they had already reached stadium level success, so they may have just decided it was time for a different direction.

 

I stopped listening to music completely after the black album. I just lost interest and started thinking about politics instead.

Die Die My Darling is a Misfits song. Why is Metallica getting credit for punk songs?

 

they did an inferior cover and totally got credit for it because they're more famous.

 

Inferior? That cover album was the best work they've done.

 

Nothing could possibly be better than the Misfits version. I don't even have to hear this shit. The Misfits version is so dark and unintelligible.
