Same with me. To this day I am surprised people wrote books on that kind of thing, especially so early in history.

If people were that desperate, they could have looked up their maid's skirt or to secretely watch their big sister get dressed. However to draw inspiration for a hand job from a book in which that kind of thing is discussed word for word, does not seem to be exciting at all.

It's like reading about the glory of eating a cheese sandwhich as a substitute for eating one in real life.

Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer. You'll love it. It's erotic and funny as well.

Blaise Cendrar's Until the End of the World. It's the first book I read that starts when two people are in the middle of having sex. The girls is like "Oh, yeah, do it in constantinople style, etc." It's an excellent read. Cendrars is one of the best novelists ever.

Colin Wilson's Ritual in the Dark is a great crime fiction in which eroticism is discussed intelligently yet in a simple way. A paedophilic relationship even happns inside of it.

Tanizaki's Naomi is about a Japanese business man who takes in an under aged girl and live like a love couple, married couple and friend in one. There is too much talking for my taste and too little or in fact no action at all. It might be your thing though. It's worth a skim.

Harold Robbin's Dreams Die First has just about every perversion you can think of. It's about a guy who starts a porn magazine and gets rich from it. He wakes up with a guy he does not remember shagging who becomes the photographer of his new porn magazine, uses his female lover and employee at the place he picks up his unemployment check as his accountant, uses the father of his gay photographer (who is the pastor of his own religius sect) as the financial contributor of his pron magazine. The condition is that he can advertise his religion in it saying the mad can take care of the body as he takes care of the soul. Then hot chicks who stray from his religion and and need some extra cash are in his mag. It is one hell of a book I probaly read a decade ago. If I read it again I might be a bit dissappointed.

so if you want to avoid porn better don't start with erotic books, but if you can bear the risk, it could be quite nice...:2thumbsup:
