So... whats the relationship between the two? Im feeling like I may be getting slightly impotent and hypertensive. I just don't know if hypertension causes you to have troubles having an erection(im not sure why that is at all... you would think if your blood vessels had more pressure in them they would fill things up more, but whatever) or if its just something that happens along with hypertension. I have many times where I would take my blood pressure and it would be in the hypertension range on the systolic side, but ive never read exactly 140/90. Usually when I do read high its low on the diastolic side but high systolic, like sometimes its 157/56. I think once I read like 132/88 cuz I was being seen by a physical therapist so that I could get hired on a job, he told me that hes not here to diagnose me with high b/p but recommended that I do talk to a doc about it(I dont have access to a doctor or a dentist or anything like that im uninsured and im not signing up for obamacare this year.. im totally nuetral on this political issue, but as of right now financially its better for me to just not buy insurance). And no I dont get that doctor visit anxiety at all, im always very relaxed and comfortable at doctor appointments. But my only doc appointments are thru work related reasons. During sex I often am quite soft. Even if im horny. Few days ago I couldnt get totally hard no matter how hard I tried. I do feel like I got an unusual libido cycle for a man. I have a very low frequency of peaks, which sometimes upsets me because it makes me feel less masculine =(. Especially when my peaks are only like once a week, and my female significant other seems to want it more even after she would often say things like "oh sex doesn't matter to me I just want love". I know the "sex doesn't matter" line is complete and utter bullshit and any guy who believes that is in for a sad ending to that relationship. So when I had that issue I got her off thru other means, can't get her off with my dick anyway, dicks just dont really seem to be designed to get a woman off. Which is bullshit! but whatever. Anyways. I suspect that im one of those "salt-sensitive" hypertensive people. And I do tend to read a very healthy blood pressure when I strictly control salt intake. Sometimes like 107/60. And so that day I had the impotence spell I started to control salt intake again and days later I wake up with a very powerful hardon, it even ached a bit(it was a "good" pain). Anyone else have ED and hypertension? How do you handle it? Im going to start with a pump and a ring, even if I can control B/P and have easier erections I think I should just invest in a pump and a ring anyways just in case. Im not diagnosed with anything. Im just making assumptions. Im pretty sure that most men have better sex drives than me, because my significant other tells me im the only guy shes been with that goes limp for a week after ejaculation. As far as I know, men can all fuck every hour of the day on average. Makes me feel pretty weak in the sex department =( I just dont know why this should happen to me, im always told im in such excellent health, perfect BMI, slow pulse, good muscle tone, and im young. I exercise and eat a diet that is nearly perfect for your metabolism, I dont smoke and I drink VERY moderately(never been drunk). Why should I already be getting these issues? Guess it don't matter if your young or old. Healthy or unhealthy.
There are plenty of reasons for erectile dysfunction, blood pressure is only one of them! Can you get spontaneous nocturnal erections? My husband sometimes gets ED, but he gets perfectly viable nocturnal erections in his sleep most nights (quite frustrating!). This ED seems to come in phases, he uses Viagra when it becomes a problem & that seems to "unlock" the door so to speak. Once he has got a good erection through Viagra, he gets then at will for weeks after, then starts to slip back into the ED pattern. Also, get your thyroid checked, that can have an effect on the ability to get hard.
I don't know how good my overnight erections are. The last time I pitched a tent in the morning it was a pretty damn good one. But last time I tried to have an erection and have sex I couldn't manage it. I had had sex with her the last couple days before that though. I guess I was just majorly "dud" after having an ejaculation 2 days in a row.
Some of it is just genetic, I suspect that the human body is thrown off when too much salt intake occurs, because it's not a natural thing for the body to endure, and comes from processed foods and restaurant foods nowadays. Negative stress and lots of psychological affects sexual response as well for both genders.
How old are you? I would go see a doctor and rule out any medical reasons. My FIL had problems with that. Decades later he had heart surgery. My MIL's boyfriend also had ED and has heart problems. I heard that my uncle also had ED (why his wife left him) and he had an enlarged heart. He had other health problems as well. He had a heart attack at 44 and died.
