Erase a Branch of Religion

hit by nuns. told that i won't be judged because i'm bisexual by the parishoners but its up to god. how god is supposed to be this kind and benevolent being but i had a lot of really, really, bad shit happen to me. this is why it is difficult for me to believe that a god exists and why the catholic church should be erased. plus a lot of their policies fit for the medieval period and not today.

 

Then how do you explain it?

I have no rational reason. Just very personal reasons, but I don't feel comfortable talking about them on a public forum, especially because people here are very much anti-religion and especially anti- catholicism.
And as I said many times, atheists here are MUCH 'louder' and pushier than the religious folks.

 

i am not like that but i do understand. i want people to be happy. it makes me happy not believing in a religion. i have close friends who are neo-pagan, catholic, atheist, agnostic, and jewish. i have no problems with them. they are happy. if being catholic makes you happy then i wish that for you.

Anyway I don't think many people are pure anti-Catholicism or Protestantism or whatever.There wouldn't be any point to that.

Maybe some are against how *doctrines* of values, customs and beliefs are used for non-spiritual purposes by some.

 

Ten years ago I would have picked Catholicism because of their positions on birth control and abortion, but now it would have to be Islam because of fundamentalist violence. That is a more pressing and immediate threat to human well-being.
