Optics are not something I follow that closely, because they like to invent their own language, unlike other branches of physics. However, it appears the Chinese have found a cheap way to leverage quantum-like effects on a standard optical processor. They basically combined a neural network with a sort of stripped down neural network using a specific algorithm, that they proved is equivalent to quantum mechanical results. Exactly where fuzzy logic and quantum mechanics part their ways, is debatable, but these results suggest complexity is the issue, and merely by adding more of the right complexity to our circuitry, especially optical circuitry, is what it requires to produce the equivalent of a cheap room temperature quantum computer.

Photons are Bosons, and they behave in a slightly more magical way as a result, probably accounting for how they could use them to imitate quantum mechanics. This kind of chip, could search through any database, almost instantly, and a single computer dedicated for the purpose, could collate all the data in the world in under a year. The latest estimates are, the amount of scientific data nobody has processed is now the size of the Island of Hawaii, five miles tall. Without this kind of processing power, we're dead, because everyone is lying to each other, and themselves, while the wealthy and powerful continue to divide and conquer.

If everybody can make one of these chips, they can all see the Big Picture much better. One stupid AI, could produce the theory of everything, and the issue is who has the best AI to begin with. Right now, that's the Chinese, but my book is aimed at leveling the playing field. Academia will either divide into so many of their own fucking categories, or get their shit together. Either way, the economy is about to change, and stomp their traditional bullshit into the dirt.

Notably, China has moved into the RISC-V chip making business, suggesting Intel and everyone else is getting out of the processor making business. But, the issue remains, as to how reliable the Chinese government is, which is not terribly reliable, and will most certainly put all kinds of spyware on their chips, just like the US does, with the Pentagon even convincing Sony to put cameras in some of their TVs. The ability to make a stupid optical chip, using a one step process, in something the size of a bread box, is the future of reality TV.

Chinese Government Shill Falls in Love With Huawei's Fake Artificial Intelligence!

China is a giant house of cards stacked on a foundation of lies and stolen IP. Chinese government can't be trusted on anything they say and every Chinese company is bound to serve the evil agendas of their authoritarian CCP government.
