Epiphany

So today (uh, technically yesterday now), I noticed the word "epiphany" on the calender for january 6th. Is this some kind of holiday, a tribute to one of the forum members, or someone trying to tell me something?

today I learned what the Hospital Term "STAT" meant.
It is short for the Latin "STATIM" and it means immediately, which was what I thought, but didnt know the origin till today.

 

I believe that it is observed as a church festival, in the Roman Catholic church, as a commemoration of the coming of the Magi as the first manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles or in the Eastern church as the baptism of Christ.

I'm not Catholic anymore so I don't know, nor do I really care.
