i don't think he was criticizing, he was just saying that one of his past gf's liked the keeper and that he supports use of it based on tampons and pads needing to be purchased so often and bad for the environment... i for one am not offended and i'm on my period as i type this!! ahahahah! hehe sorry, i'm also a little sick... perhaps delirious, or maybe just hyper and need to sleep?...
I apologize for implying criticism. I meant none. I actually am very involved in a hands on way right now, dealing with the joys of menstruation. Last year, my fiance suffered a brain injury, and I gratefully help her with her monthly period challenges. It is blood, I get it on me, I don't find it that gross, I just wash it off. It symbolizes life to me, and though messy at times, is not as gross to deal with as other things I can think of. It is no worse than cleaning up and changing an adult in diapers. So you get some poo on your hands, it comes off.
wow... that's really great BG13... i only hope that if that ever occurs to me i will be so lucky to have somebody love me enough to care for me in that way and feel the same way about it.
thanks tigerlily, I hope you never have such a tragedy happen, but if it does, I am sure that there will be someone there for you. I am so lucky of a person, I can't begin to tell all the reasons. I feel blessed to have met her, and I am so glad that we got together now, instead of 10 years ago, when I was a still a very sarcastic, proud, selfish prick.
I hadn't really heard of these things like the keeper and the diva cup, but they sound interesting... part of me thinks it's a bit gross but on the other hand I like the idea of saving both money and the environment However, I didn't see that much difference between the two. Anyone here who has tried them both and has advice on which one I should get, perhaps which is the smallest/most flexible? I'm 36, no children, small built, and only occasionally use tampons (always the smallest I can get, too).
Both are good, I've used both. I had the keeper until my dog ate it, and when I went to reorder I just ordered the diva cup because it looked prettier hehe I think I liked the keeper better, but I am not exactly sure why. I just felt better with it. The diva cup can be boiled, and the keeper can't. But I never got yeast infections with the keeper and I get them every month after my period now that I've switched to the diva cup. Might be my birth control pills though and hormones as I have switched them since. I don't see how something that is boiled could be causing it. Either way, I am so much happier this way than with tampons.
I was so inspired by this thread that I just went to the site and bought a diva cup for myself. It will be nice to not have to buy tampons and pads each month. Not to mention how much better it is for the environment. Thanks for the link!
