    Taran --> "Yeah, it's like we used to say back in the old days, don't trust anyone UNDER 30!"

    Sharay --> (gently taps Taran on the shoulder) (whispers in his ear)

    Taran --> "What's that? Are you sure??

    Sharay --> (nods)

    Taran --> (mumbles) "OVER 30, you say? But we're ...."

    Sharay --> <shrugs>

    Taran --> "So sorry. Nothing to see here. Move along..."

    Oh and I guess thier is a age limit on how old you be when you try and stop a war?Also the vietnam war ended after 16 years we have been in Iraq for about 5 years.You had alittle more time to organize.Also I could have sworn vietnam ended after the fall of saigon and all was considered lost.

    ChiefCowpie, your cynicism and negativity do nothing towards any cause. And the whole "Young Hippies" forum incentive is laughable.
    I know that I myself am doing what I can, and I dont need to prove it to you.
    Like the original poster voiced: Of all groups of people to be "fighitng" amongst eachother, how could it be the Old and the New Hippies. If anything, we should now be using to advantage the resources we have- us New Hippies need to have more contact with old hipsters to learn more about organizing events maybe, or just creating a eco-friendly lifestyle, etc. etc. We have such amazing opportunities with two generations of hippies living now. We need to bond together and then we'll fly!

    Why dont all these old ass complaining hippies go stop the damn war themselves if it's so easy. All you guys do is complain about kids online.

    Why do I remind you of an old bitter hippy that thinks the kids should stop the war for me?

    I don't think that a forum is exactly going to be motivation for people to stop a war because enough people go on this forum to stop let alone young people. For another thing I don't understand why some older people have it in their minds that young people have to stop the war it is up to everyone that doesn't think the war is right to stop it. Also some younger people don't care that there is a war, you cannot force them to do anything if they don't want to. If you really want younger people to start making an effort maybe some of the older people complaining should set the example and maybe start trying to educate younger people on why it is wrong and starting some protests and organisations! I think that you need to understand that those of use younger people that don't believe in it try to do as much as we can but there just aren't enough of use that care so instead of complaining about it here were most of the younger people actually don't believe in the war you should get out there and convince younger people that don't belong to this forum and find out for yourself how hard it is!

    Matt,

    nice you hear from ya to. Its been a while going throught classic cars is not easy or cheap! Anyways how you guys compair to your great grandparents in the early 1900's and the world left for there sucessors? You guys gave us a world of cruising, classic cars, neon lights, reason, hope, and the know how to change the world for the better. Your parents left a shattered world they caused during WWII and before them all they left was a family name and mabe a horse or two. You guys did one hell of a fantastic job, we just have to keep the ball rolling and all those memories alive. (Classic cars and cruising for one ;)) by the way you may want to see some of the cars i have been through. 1957 Chevy Bel Air, 1957 Chevy 210, 1957 Chevy 210, 1967 Ford (truck), 1958 Chevy Byscane, 1958 Buick Special, 1958 Buick Century, 1972 Chevy Impala (convertible)

    by the way the 72 is for sale! runs and drive like a champ!

    I think our generation is more laid back , few who are working for PEACE and doing some useful action
    we can do something about it if we just agree to a starting point we really can be useful in this filthy world

    You're exactly right. I'm being friendly with all I encounter these days. You know. A nice Hello on the sidewalk, speak to those who live in my building. Get to know people. They freak at first, but since it is always pleasant, they warm up. Who knows I may need one of them to call 911 for me someday.
    That's how I met Josh. and now, you.

    I don't think we' the old ones' can lay this anti-war effort totally on the younger peoples doorstep. This has to be a collective effort just as it was way back then
    The Viet Nam war was not stopped by hippies or yippies or rednecks or Black Panthers or the Hells Angels or the Veterns groups or the PTA. It was not the War Resistance League or the SDS. It was not the hookers of Vegas parading down Main St. in frilly outfits or the freaks of the Haight doing chants and meditation that made it go away.
    The war ended because of all groups and all people or the vast majority of Americans demanding an end to it. No one group can take credit for the end of that mess.
    Right now' this administration has lied so many times to so many people that they have used their spin machine to keep this thing going but it is breaking down now and the truth is finally coming through.("ignore the man behind the curtain!")
    Now' the members' of both major parties are just saying no to Georges war. He wants to go out on top and it just won't happen. His legacy is that of a madman who refused to end a war that started for no reason and kept it going on lies alone.
    Just remember to vote for a Democrate next time up-Why and how he got re-elected is still a mystery but we need that party gone ASAP!---VOTE!!!
