I and my sons have a roofing company in Eugene. When I plied the trade from '67 to some years later, there were seemingly hundreds and hundreds of very good tradesmen around in all the states in which I worked from Oregon to Washington to Florida to Hawaii to Colorado to California, etc, etc. We cannot find anyone that is adequately trained or wants to learn a trade that will ALWAYS be necessary. The crew we have is good, led by number 1 son, but no one ever applies for work much any more. So it goes.
