emo people....what do you think?

If it's just a fad like many of you say, I wonder how much will it last?
A lot of emo kids are that, just kids, so my guess is that when they're like 18 they'll forget all about this emo fad.


I think people describe themselves as a subculture because all the ideology of that subculture describes the persons or how it is suposed to be or how they want to be. I might be wrong too.

Emo people don't want personality, they want knives. Knives, blood, attention, and those weird crying marks by their eyes which is supposed to look "oh so awesome". Yeah Emo WAS about music, not anymore though.

Now it's about talking about how depressed you are, talking about cookies when it doesn't even make sense, crying, get the shit beat out of you by other people, more crying, some slitting wrists, even though they do it across when EVERYONE knows how to actual kill yourself by slitting your wrists.

So they get into it and they believe is soo freaking much until it's too late.

I guess you're right most of the emo thing it's not anymore about the music, still it doesn't justify the violence.

Some of my friends are emo.
I think they are rather deep persons.
And infact, I do like their style yeah! ^^

It's definitely easy to attack emos modern day. I've never exactly found any attraction to the sub-culture (or whatever one would call it ), but just because someone classifies themselves as emo does not mean they similar to all the other ones.

Teen youth is definitely a hard time in a persons life, what with hormones and all that, and some people cope in different ways!

 

i find emos to be generally nice people. its ok(ish) as long as the depressive bit's just an act. if not they need some help

 

I think that's the best gift they could have. What did they expected?!? That's what they reclaim... All they want is attention, how "uncool" they are, how everyone's just hate them... blablabla

Not to say that I think it's alright to beat people up for their looking, but what do you want me to say. We all living in the same world, living the same shit... You just don't go out dressing up like a girl and expect that nothing will happens... When you are part of culture you take responsability of everything that comes with the image, sadly it's a part of it... it's not fantasy land god damn... I hope they learn that they need to fucking forget about style if they don't want a damn punch again. They might want to be as low profile as possible from now on.

 

just like we hippies grow our hair and smell like dirty feet, "emo's" do the fringe hair and piercings because they want to, it's THEIR individual style. i put "" around the word emo's because i think that's such a ridiculous generalization of them.
it's wong for people to go "stupid hair....tight girl jeans....they're so stupid!" because how dare anyone judge someone for the way they look or act? if they wanna listen to MCR and cut themselves and such, let them.
and beating them up, beating ANYONE up because of their style-copied or not-is plain wrong.
i love emo's. i love goths. i love hippies. i love ghetto people. i love everyone. and so should everyone else.

So you're saying that no one can express the way they want through their clothes because they will get beated-up?

Yes we may be living in the same world and whatever you want but still for me it´s not enough reason to beat somebody up. Hell no! I´m suposed to be able to leave the house dressed up like a drag queen if I want to and no one should care (not that I will).

You may not believe it, but here it is more and more popular every day.

I've never said I'd beat the shit out of them... I'm just not surprised it happened. I'm covered in tattoos from neck to the feet, do I expect everyone to accept it...? fuck no. In a perfect world I would... but is it a perfect world...? fuck no.

Maybe I'm too old for this shit, but for I... who the fuck cares about clothes anyway, express yourself with world, not clothing. I go as simple as possible because they get ripped off during work... but I couldn't understand that so you know, you can tell me to fuck off because I ain't no fashion freak.

Guess the Hipp culture was the first subculture who used clothesto show that they disagree with how other people, manly the people for whom I keep their books, were making the world.
So they dressed different.

Later the punks and the gangsta hiphoppers did the same.
And today it are the emos...

 

I don't hate emo's, but I'm not a fan of them.
That's one of the reasons I love this forum, no one really hates and,
At least they justify their reasons, I know alot of people who hate emos/goths just because alot of other people in society do.

 

Emo is just another stereotype for kids who want to fit into a rebel category whilst in school, trends come and go... I don't care, do what you like. If you want your hair to look like you just got out of bed and your music to be whiny who cares just don't force your crappy music and tastes on me.. that's all I have to say about it.
