Emo confused with punk

Why do people continuously complain about emos? I thought this was a place where no one is judged yet people jus bitch and moan about emos. What are you going to do about it? If you dont like it dont listen to it. no ones making you and you can't change what other people like.
Emo stands for emotional and apparently all emos self harm - Please can someone explain to me why? for any reason would you bully someone who already has self harming problems?

Yes i know someone who loves MCR and used to self harm but that doesn't make her a emo! What it means is she went thru a tough patch and MCR are a good band. Just because you don't like a style of music does not mean its rubbish whiney crap! I love MCR but i also love Green Day, Billy Talent, Artic Monkeys and Nirvana. If listening to emo music makes you an Emo then im a grebo/chav/emo which im not!

I am very tired of this. This girl I was talking to the other day was telling me how punk she was and how much she liked punk music. I asked her what some of her favorite bands were and she started off with "my chemical romance". I immediately puked on her.
