Eminem has talent you cant deny. He is good at what he does. Not all of his work is good, but some of it is damn good. I dont listen to him like i used to but there are a few songs i still play every now and then.
Marshall Mathers has always been a tool for a record company so that this music could find more crossover appeal on white suburbia. yeah, he does have talent. but so does charles manson as a musician. neil young actually was a proponent at one point and time for getting the man a record deal. he also wrote a song or two for the beach boys.
that's easy talent though. anyone could do the rap he does (poor attempt to poetry, basic descriptions of his life, incredibly dramatic) and the fucking beat, any-fucking-one can do rap beats. you don't even need instruments. when I was like 13-14 I was into underground rap - from France (arab/african-French mostly from Marseilles or Saine St. Denis) and this shit was in no way commercial or repetitive. it was creative, violent - but heavily political and serious shit. sometimes a joke but.. yeah that was me when I was 13. I've grown out of it. I have not yet found anything coming close to it in quality.
and simple drum beats on a preprogrammed machine like 1-2 and 1-2-3. you'd think if someone spent that much time making "music they'd learn how to atleast program a drum machine better. it seems more about not playing instruments, swiping someone else's background music(sampling) and adding your own words to it. not exactly too far up on the ladder of originality.
Have you actually ever used a sampler? Making a nice beat isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. Good hip hop is about the lyrics anyway, not the beats...
it's very easy to take someone else's shit and then turn around only to label it as your own. when it was never yours to begin with.
It's also pretty easy to say the above, but it's not true. I say this with honestly because I've been playing guitar since 6th grade (I play a Gibson LP standard) and spent more than enough time playing around on my buddy's MPC2000. Making good beats is not easy, and sampling right takes good taste in music and practice, just like playing guitar.
it may take a good ear, but it's still the machine doing most of the work. besides, not very much rap music uses guitar players. so being a guitar player using a sampler is a different matter than being some no talent hack who wears his pants down to his knees is.
O man, i cant believe i didnt think about the beastie boys. I completly take back that statment i made. (Even though i was semi joking anyway).

this t shirt says it all http://www.cracksmokingshirts.com/html/Get_Crunk,_No_Talent_Required_T-Shirt.html
im more of a NWA, dre, eazy-e guy myself. but a few of eminems songs are alright. i just like that he never forgets that hed be nothing without the guidance that dre gave him, and never stops thanking dre in his songs
Anyone can rap he does? Bullshit. Eminem is better than most black rappers out there, his rhymes actually require thinking and cleverness.
hahaha when you come post in the MJ forums are you trying to joke around? if it's such "easy talent" how come your not out making money rhyming in "da underground" rather then moderating hipforums? underground shit is all fucking wack, there is a reason it's underground and there's a reason the majority of artists never break through, and it's not because they "dont want to sell out"
