elliott smith is one of the most talented musicians ever, and wasnt afraid to do things the way he wanted to and how he felt they fit. i have alot of respect for that man, also new moon is out. very good i think, they did a great job cleaning up those tracks. its unfortunate i didnt get into him till 05', 2 years after he died. i would of liked to see him play. my favorite albums by him will allways be roman candle and either/or. all of them are genius tho.

 

Clearly one of the best songwriters of our time. End of story.

 

Do you have any suggestions for other music similiar to elliot smith? i like him and would like to find more that is similiar

 

well... elliott smith is very special and his music is so unique that can't be compared to other things... i'd like to recommend you some stuff by red house painters, above all, their first two albums which are so great. it's more country-like, you know...

Elliott Smith never ceases to amaze me, even in his death. His music is so inspiring and leaves me with chills all over. His music has definitely helped me through tough spots in my life.

 

elliott smith did for my mind and soul what che guevarra did for cubans. i love that man.


oh and suicide machine.....anyone heard it yet? its tiny time machine to lyrics..........amazing!!

Yes, Alameda is a very good song. Especially when stoned, but that happens to be the only way I've heard it really.
