Good point, but that's a state's decision, not the federal government's.

Whether or not there should be public schools at all is another thing worth considering, though.

 

I think this would be the greatest thing in the WORLD!... i am not gonna lie.. and i'm sure a lot of others can agree in the fact that a lot of kids work ethics have just gone to shit!.. livin off their parents.. lack of work at work.. just not caring about working.. yadda yadda.. plus it would help cut back a nice lil bit of city spending..

 

You would think it is the greatest thing in the world joker as you are putting that work aside for high schoolers. Did you have to do 40-50 hours in high school, because I am guessing you didn't? I have to do 50 hours this year, had to do 40 hours total in the last two years, and then another 50 hours next year. Forced volunteerism kinda defeats the purpose IMO.

Well, I think the best way to slove rising college costs is to have everyone out of high school have to serve two years in the army then your college is paid for, state school anyway, but credit to more private colleges. This way people might have a better idea of what they want to do. It's socialized I know but that is where we are heading when Obama gets into office. We would have the largest standing army in the world. It would rock. I bet it would solve a lot of problems to, but then again it will cause others. Anyone see or should I say read because the book was better, Starship Troopers. Service = Citizenship.

its not the governments job to send people to colege, thats is socialism and they have that in denmark and sweeden but in the greatest country in the world we endorse capitalism, it is the basis on which our nation was formed.

what makes the US the greatest country in the world? Last time I checked Sweden was ranked #1 place in the world to live. It's this misconception that makes people in other countries dislike you guys. You could have been born anywhere in the world. I'd much rather live in Europe than the US, they are way more chill there and there are far less prudes and religious people.
