Beta Bitches!!! So sign up, if you haven't already. The game still have a ways to go buggy-wise but damn...it feels like an Elder Scrolls game!! You can even take your time going around a looting every little basket! I'm so glad that some of the game's true flavour isn't getting lost in the online-iness. So yeah...
I was wondering about that in the online version. It's a detail I guess but if you couldn't loot like you are used to in the Elder scrolls it does feel like a different game quick I bet. So what would happen if there are quite a bunch of people roaming the same place and get in a old school looting mood? Are all cabinets and baskets empty? Does it respawn so others can knick a few apples too Are you busy with a storyline yet? :2thumbsup:
I will check it out. I am looking forward to this game but I don't like the subscription fee in addition to paying for a PlayStation subscription.
The opening story line was pretty decent. Tried a few classes. Enjoyed crafting but enchanting has gotten a little weird. Overall had a great Elder Scrolls vibe. I was hoping for a F2P model but I think I may fork out for the sub. on this one. We'll see. It'll probably end up F2P in a year or so...most games seem to go that way eventually. Can't wait until the next beta.
I have been invited to two betas so far.. and I'm on mac (haven't started Mac testing yet) I'm glad to hear about the looting though, cause just a big open world and looting is surprisingly enough to keep me entertained for hours
F2P? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! please never, ever, ever suggest that. Then you end up with a fucked game economy, a bazzillion "offers" to buy shit needed to actually play the game to any degree, people counterfeiting the game "currency" and it would be absofuckinglutely overrun by 12 year old assholes. No thanks, every game I have tried that was F2P ended up the same as described above. I would pay to keep it from becoming yet another failed F2P MMORPG, because there sure are a lot of them around.
Ah right, so there are parts of provinces like Elsweyr etc. as well? I'll take a search on how it looks
I got a chance to play the game over the weekend. I can't give any details. but I will tell you my impressions. It did feel very much more like an MMO than and elder games sequel The lore was still there, and on the positive it was pretty fun to have friends to help fight you through caves, they saved my lives a couple of times, so I'd help them, and it'd turn into this fellowship The game didn't feel worth exploring. it felt like a pre civilized era. as it may be intended for. but I didn't like all the small towns with no real appeal. Hopefully they are just hiding the goods for the release date The stories weren't fun, the quests were what you'd expect from an mmo, worthless and lifeless. I never felt engaged into what you were even suppose to do. The npcs were very lifeless. they all spoke in the same dramatic voice. like a soap opera. And as bethesda is infamous for, it was buggy. I often got stuck after a conversation ended. and it wouldn't allow me to move or even look around What are some expectations or questions you have?
No. I had a friend that doesn't like the game because magic players aren't magicy enough. It's hard when you gotta balance classes for PVP. Sometimes things get lost. I didn't play much of this round of beta. I've been addicted to Hearthstone. Also the servers were too busy. If you didn't log in at the right time of day, you'd get stuck in queue
Yup Manservant Can't wait! So excited to play some more, and really can't wait for the game to be released
It's been buggier this weekend than in the past few beta's and it doesn't seem like a matter of stress of the server. The vendor bug really started to piss me off. Played a new character this weekend. Forgot about the quest lull between leaving your starting city and moving to the next one. Now, I like a good flavour quest of just running about and reading but it's so long that it's just boring me. Still having fun overall. Just needed to gripe for a bit.
So did anyone end up playing? I caved and bought it. I met up with some old friends and it was a cool chance to game together again. Going much smoother that beta. And I went Ebonheart this time so I didn't have to redo the quest line that I was griping about in the above post.
I haven't yet. I'm too old, I can only keep up with one RPG at a time. but I just hit level 33 the other day in Skyrim.
