I don't believe I could ever use a cock ring.

What I describe as edging is not really starting and stopping cold over and over. It's getting yourself close to the orgasmic point of no return and maintaining it there by slowing your strokes down. At this point your giving yourself mini orgasms that feel amazing but you can keep going. You want to maintain this heightened plateau or cliff ride. Once you actually ejaculate, which feels amazing in itself, you are over and done. As one gets older, it takes longer to recover for the next round. By edging you take advantage of this limitation by prolonging the masturbation and by edging prolonging what is to close to orgasm as you can get before shooting.
