Ohh if I could only walk in your shoes. I think Echowood needs to start blogging! I bet you could get a lot of converts if you give people a sneak peak into the workings of a commune.
here's a thought for you Some have no interest in converting others; rather they wish for those whose desire is beyond the vast volumes of talk put out there; to do a little research, and work, and come visit; to see if there is indeed resonance. For the only way to see if you are going to fit in is to go, look, and see, and partake. Yeah there are cults out there; hope you look into the mirror when you say that though. Anyone who aspires and works toward the road less traveled can wear that label put on them by others whose only real desire is to stay within the flock (which in and of itself is the biggest brainwashed cult). Far too many want an escape....want to do nothing and have everything ....keep smoking....for therein you may get a fleeting glimpse. Any community wotth being part of is not going to encourage co-dependence...you see self empowerment needs work. Blessings Namaste
Lol, wow you are awfully critical man. I know not all communes don't wanna "convert" people. But communes who knowingly want to create a community with harmonized minds *could* help out people. Not everyone has $5000 to blow on airfare to go check out all these communes. Nothing is wrong with putting the message out there. It never hurts to have more information than less. Even though I do agree with the pure bs talkers.
Anyone who shows up at my place and starts talking about harmonizing anyone's mind is going to find themselves heading back down the road awfully quick.
Yah...everyone I know of who's "doing it" finds they have to be rugged individualists....because it often devolves for unspecified periods of time of going it pretty much on your own, as those who want it already in place beg off the work needed and hit the road to find a more "harmonic" (read less stressful, and less work) community. And all the while they want to be in the ground floor to make the decisions on what the ground rules and orientation of the community will be. I find it interesting that almost all initiators of communities move on to start another anew after those come in that want to find it already together and want to talk it to death rather than work Pessimistic,,,,could be...but I am still actively involved....you ?
Yes, right now my life path is working towards the commune dream. Doing my research, putting the plans down on paper, and gaining the wealth. It's simply like the scientific community sharing their research notes. There's nothing wrong with having the design in place so you can put your ideas to work quickly. That's how we can gain power in numbers. Sure there are tons of lazy hippy leechers who want it all done for them, but there are also plenty of hard working people who wouldn't mind saving a year of research over something somebody else had already done. Nothing's wrong with that.
i would love to come on down there, unfortunately its june and hot in ohio. i cant imagine how hot it is in texas. if im not doing anything this fall i would come down.
