Animal Farm is genius, I read it in 7th grade. 1984 is great too, I've read it 3 times and I get more out of it every time. Brave New World is another gem... same with BNW revisited and The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell... also by Huxley.

What good does it do to say 'I don't want any government meddling in the private sector' when that sector will be decimated if the fed doesn't step in? It doesn't make any sense to say 'I want the goverment out of my life' in a democracy. We are the government. If you don't like it, run for office.

What exactly do you think would happen if you got your wish and there was no government? Goodbye freeway. See you later public school. I guess we don't really need FEMA or the FDA. You see something you don't like, get involved. Obama may be socialist, but that is tons better than Bush's fascism. At least the poor among us get a fighting chance.

not at all angry...you totally got me wrong. And my logic is far from flawed. I never said anything about there shouldn't be a government. You got me wrong there too. I speak about limiting the federal government and letting the states do their job. Which leads me to you point on the freeway. The roads aren't federally maintained. It's local, county, and state taxes that pay to maintain and create the roads. Reducing the size of the government would not effect any of these things.

And yes, we do not need the FDA. It totally counter-productive to group drugs AND food in the same agency. It's totally unrelated other than fact people orally consume them. The FDA is nothing more than a giant lobbying group for the pharm companies and large food manufacturers. Many of the laws the FDA enforces are hypocritical and not helping the livelihood of anyone...this is really a whole other issues so I won't get into and change the subject.

And I like what you said, "At least the poor among us get a fighting chance." It made me laugh. As if the poor didn't have a chance before and now just because Obama is in office they are going to rise to the top...right...lol He's brought so much change.

I have heard many others always talk about the lesser of two evils stance. This is no different, which I totally disagree with. I don't want a socialist or a fascist running the country....they are marxist like principle.
