You're the one saying the government doesnt do anything to help. Neither do you. The fact you make 25 an hour compared to 9 (by your own choice) shows that you care more about yourself and your family rather than helping those who "need it". The same mentality most people with high incomes have. My dad could vote liberal and give away 800 dollars a pay check like he was. Or by voting conservative he doesn't have to give away nearly as much.

As for helping the poor, man dont give me that shit, me and my wife both volunteer at the soup kitchen as well as food banks, last year i organised the fucking food drive, i think you need to drop you conservative higher then though attitude and realise in this country familys have zero support from the government meaning people have to do what they have to do to keep the kids fed, do the math man, 9$ an hour at the end of the month does not add up to all the living expenses in todays rich ass society, maybey your full of cash but shit man, open your closed eyes because there are more familys out there struggling then just myself and some people make money ways i dont want to get into.

i get unemployment benefit, and its a fucking godsend. no way could i survive without it, and yeah i do little things to supplement it, like those beads i made, and i used to do chores for my nan and blahblahblah. id much rather have a job though.

I think what sativa is trying to say is that he IS doing what he can - he is volunteering at a soup kitchen and food drives rather than paying outrageous income taxes on already low wages, because it is what he can afford to do to help his country as best he can.

sorry perhaps i overreacted pat, im just having a goddamn shitty day, cancer is no picnic and sense this topic came up it made me realise the government you so happily vote for declined my application for full health care over the costs of cancer therapy and so and and so forth, meaning i have medical shit to pay for as well on top as all else, perhaps this is why my outlook on the conservative government isnt as peachy as it should be, I see what you dont see, I see a flawed canadian medical system where sicly folk cant get care thet need, I see no childcare funding and i see no family support, I see all the support possible to the working/corporate sectors of our country but alas all else is in the sidelines, I get sicker, send more letters to your conservative government but get no replys, so you see pat, why should i care about my government when they push people like me aside every year, and im not the only one, our hospitals and daycares have all been pushed to the end of the table to make room for corporate america thats taking over canada. Im sorry for the put downs and negativity but shit man, i wont tolerate someone telling me our government is doing as much as possible because i see and am living through otherwise, maybey if harper started funding this country instead of a pointless war there would be enough money to heal this country's economy but really as long as conservatives run the show, sick folk like me are sentenced to death, so yeah i dislike government policys for so many reasons, life threatening reasons at that.

Thanx, people always here about how bad the american health system is but the canadian one is always overlooked, Its not quit as bad as america but its heading that way if things dont change.
