http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/editorials/archives/2015/11/29/2003633574/1 Somehow I don't think that the catchphrase 'eat a rainbow everyday' is going to solve the obesity problem in China. Quote from the article: "We have faced some challenges with parents’ entrenched misconceptions about how much milk or meat their kids should be consuming. We cannot tell them they are wrong, so we have to try and work around this and hopefully they will come to their own realization in time." Why can't parents be told that they are wrong? If they've been instilling unhealthy eating habits into their children, they need to be told that it's wrong. It's the first step of solving a problem. Instead they are instructed to tell their children "eat a rainbow everyday" as if this is going to solve the obesity epidemic.
well, rainbows are generally just a combination of light and water vapor. so i suppose if that's what you're eating, it might be a small help against obesity...
That makes absolutely no sense. I thought China had more rules than almost anywhere. At one time they surely did! Why in the world can't someone (do they not have the equivalent of a Surgeon General?) tell the parents they are wrong or need to do something to address childhood obesity??? Furthermore, if obesity is a problem (which I honestly had no idea that was a problem there!) why in the world can't the parents SEE this, and take steps to Change the eating habits of their children and make sure they get more physical exercise?!? eat a rainbow my ass smh
