concentrate on rythm for the first ten years you play. first learn all your major chords in the first position. then learn what a minor is, and learn all of those(very simple) then learn your sevenths(also simple) dont bother with tabs or tryin to play leads, just work on that rythm, and try not to develope bad habits, learn the proper way to hold the guitar, proper right hand and left hand technique, dont take any short cuts, and concentrate on rythm. that will make you better than 99% of amature guitar players, and then you will be able to play with others and get paid. i know a ton of cats who can play solos from tabs, or by ear, and sound nice enough, but id never take them to a paying gig, cus they suck and dont know what they are doing. play rythm for about ten years . .. then ill teach you some more.
