The novel Earth by David Brin came out back in the 90s and I thought it had an interesting portrayal of the future.

In the book oldsters would go about with eyeware that recorded and simultaneously uploaded the imagery to the Internet of everything around them. This, and various other futuristic scenarios are really worth reading about. Especially as we now live in the age of Google Glasses and iWatches coming to your wrist soon. (Well maybe not to this wrist... but I am sure others will gladly plug themselves into the Net).

And now they have retired the space shuttles, as foreseen in the novel, and one could perhaps be made available for use in a film version of this book... I would sure like to see that!

Has anyone else read this classic?

Me three. Great book, good reading. Yeah, David Brin's been bragging lately about how he predicted this and that. And he did!
