I’m all in with my kindle. I even get my library books on it. I almost never read actual “ books “ anymore.
I feel kinda bad because I’ve seen a couple used book stores close over the last couple years, and I have to admit, I don’t shop in them anymore myself. I used to love browsing a used bookstore. They just can’t compete with $1.99 books from amazon. Without leaving my house.
I still prefer my kindle to a heavy, dirty library book though.
    Just a thought. Thanks.

I prefer Paper but just lately I got into digital books...with the right size tablet, it's great! I still read paper though...don't want to have to rely on a internet connection just to read :D

You don’t rely on an internet connection. I bring mine to some of the most remote places in North America. However, a dead battery is horrible. Often I carry a mass market paper back as backup.

I'm old school. An actual physical book is preferable for me

i can go either way; they both have their benefits. i don't have a kindle or other device that is really made for that purpose, so at this point i generally stick with paper. but that doesn't mean i think it's necessarily better, just more convenient for me at the moment.

try goodwill, you can get four books for that price.

I tried a kindle but if I can get what I want in a physical book I'll always take it.

Why do we need kindle for ebooks. But just a normal phone/tablet/laptop for reading the internet. I dont get that part

Sometimes i just drift off into reading boring nerdy stuff on the internet for hours, doesnt seem to hurt my brain if its not a kindle screen.

If it was that imortant, work places especially would all kindlelize their computer screens

I think its a bit of BS

A kindle doesn't use blue light so it's a lot more easier on the eyes. It also stays charged for a much significant longer period of time, unlike a phone. It's also bigger than a phone so easier to read.

Kindle doesn't let you screw around on Hip Forums. Kindle is for reading ONLY. Phone/tablet/laptop is for everything.

And by, "reading boring nerdy stuff" we all know you mean posts by HF members

Shouldn't the quotation marks be around the word "lady"? :)

I tend to think when one is reading IT, one scans, whereas when one leafs though a greater appreciation is found - and enjoyed

I still do (used) books. Either from a used brick and mortar or off of Amazon.
