In a year you'll look back on this and laugh. Don't sweat it. I got picked up for being Drunk In Public because I tried walking home from the bar (I lived close enough and didn't want to drive my truck) Damned if you do damned if you don't.
Don't beat yourself up that is a nerve racking situation, especially when stoned and all hyper aware and paranoid. But in the future never ever admit to having done anything. Think about it this way, do you want to make their job that easy for them? I would lawyer up, if you live in a small area especially the lawyers are probably golfing buddies with everyone of the prosecutors and judges. At the least, you can probably get it knocked down to something you won't lose your license over or receive hefty fines. Not to mention auto insurance jacking up. You will save money in the long run. It's sad to say, but judges don't like it when people go pro se or public defender. If you pay into their whole system it will work to your advantage. I would look up local dui attorneys.
Oh stop it, 96% of prison inmates are hetero and would abhor being involved in such an act as you suggest. Save your prison fantasys for the sex forums why don't cha? :biker:
i think its more fucked up to support and coddle an adult who knows he did wrong sometimes people dont understand the opposite view until they are forced to experience it
Driving stoned (assuming you are used to being stoned) is not a big deal. It's arguable that it makes you more careful and mindful on the road. In the US, states that have legalized medical weed have seen drastic drops in traffic fatalities since implementation. And my personal experience tells me that also.
Meanwhile, extending your exhalation when you breathe has the physiological effect of relieving anxiety.
I think it is fucked up to wish injury on anyone... that's all. As I said, I think there are far more dangerous people on the road than people who have smoked pot. Obviously you disagree. I personally don't even smoke pot, but people I know that do smoke and then drive and they are still less of a danger to those on the road than all the people who are texting, playing the guitar, fucking with their iPad and all the other crap that people do on the road. The worst thing I have ever seen someone who had smoked do on the road is drive too slowly.
Yeah. I do know a lot of those old statistics that say "so many thousand drivers got into accidents with pot in their systems" Well pot can be in your system for 30 days Alcohol would have been the main culprit for 90% of those numbers. While driving I always assume the next person isn't paying attention so I drive very defensively.
I don't know your situation, but if you have the extra few grand laying around I'd lawyer up. Depending on where you live, DUIs can be a criminal conviction which will make it harder to travel internationally.
No, he's not. To this point he's made some crass statements based on some personal experience that he says he has. Informing an accused person of his rights under the law and assisting him within the law is not condoning an alleged offense or belittling a victim of such an offense or coddling a person accused of such an offense. It's simply informing the person of his rights under the law. It offers the person whatever options may be at his disposal to protect himself from false or exaggerated charges or just reasonable charges filed against him. The police and prosecutors work a case to their advantage and the defendant works it to his advantage if he so chooses. That's the way the legal system works, regardless of the emotional content and psychological stance that someone may have about a personal experience related to such a charge.
Not much advice. You made a mistake and looks like you learned a lesson, and that's very mature. Even something you'll be able to be proud of in retrospect. In the mean time, you're just going to have to swallow whatever you're dealt. A lawyer might help, as they do look good to judges, but either way you'll be pleading no contest I assume. They're are indigence things which vary by state which'll get you a free one. It's your call, but I wouldn't say you'd have to give anything up because you made a mistake, unless you think you cannot control it. Just smoke or drink a little at home. Good luck.
Well BBad can take comfort, that if PR's convicted, he'll never be driving on a Canadian road. Not that PR is planning on visiting Canada, but it will be an option removed. It's a felony up here. Now if for some reason you think you may ever need to go to Canada - lawyer up well and fight that shit. 'Cause it's nearly impossible to get a pardon to go through, after the fact.
You were nervous because you have a nervous system. Emotional tension is part of that system. Our emotional tension rides on those things we invest ourselves in and when we think something is not right then that causes stress, a subtle extension of fight or flight. But you are not in mortal danger unless you are Recall the alarm bells that went off in your head the moment you saw lights. Your alarm was not cause by the lights but by the way you were thinking, your musings about what might happen. Maybe you believe that if you could foresee what was going to happen you could arm yourself appropriately. Well news flash, you ain't kreskin. If all that personal drama were really effective you should apply it to lottery numbers and you wouldn't find yourself off balance. As you described the events that unfolded you talked about feeling so humiliated that you couldn't function thus giving the appearance of impairment. It is that neurotic concern for your impressions that undid you, not the system and not your lack of sound judgement. It is not important to figure out what might happen, you will always be surprised or disappointed. It is important to be prepared, that is to have constant access to all your faculties/adaptability. So tell that junkyard squashed rat in your mind to shut the fuck up and take a few breaths so you can get your feet under you next time, or anytime.
