I'm interested in knowing your experience with these new alkaline batteries? They still don't last that long in my digital camera, but they fare better than any other alkaline, some alkalines don't work at all in my camera, displaying "battery exhausted" almost immediately with a fresh battery. I think the only batteries that my digital camera likes are lithiums or NiMH rechargeables. My camera says it pulls 1.4 amps, which is quite high current. Does anyone at HF have any experience with these batteries in medium or low drain devices and how do they compare to "regular" alkaline batteries? Also would like to know if anyone has used the less common NiZn rechargeable batteries? These are supposed to have a nominal voltage of 1.6v vs. 1.2v for NiMH, more like the voltage of a fresh alkaline. Don't know if that would mean longer battery life in a digital camera or not, digital cameras are likely designed to work on the lower voltage of NiMH batteries and the discharge curve is pretty flat so I'm interested to hear from someone who knows or has experience. I lost my NiMH charger so I'm interested in whether I should just by a new NiMH charger or get the NiZn. Lithiums work better than anything but they are kind of expensive, and you only get to use them once.
I haven't seen those. Really the only thing I have that uses alkaline batteries are my tv remotes and those last forever. For electric tools they are all NiCad or lithium ion. NiCads are solid and make power for a long time, but lithium ions take more charges and have a better power curve. And lighter
