Well I suffer from a pretty severe case of this in my right hand.....Its a disease where the causes are not really known.....Its said to be more common in Males of Northern European stock...and can be hereditary...although no one in my close family has got it only me......The quack asked bout my lifestyle cos it is common in those who like a drop of the good stuff....And I did tell him "Well Doc I will confess with my time in Nashville I did shake ol Jim Beams hand".....and he also said guitar playing might have caused problems.....and he told me to stop masturbating as well....and I thought.....blimey...There goes my ...music...booze and masturbating :bigcry: .......But I just wondered if anyone suffers from this and whether they've had any surgery...cos I aint really looking to go down that path if I can help it...cos I've heard bad reports bout the results.....It doesn't really give me pain but it can affect my grip and little things like washing my face and hair cos you can't get your palm flat.
Man, that looks pretty painful from the pictures I'm seeing. I have something of the opposite, mostly in the morning or at night where I have trouble making a fist. Probably just arthritis. I'm only 28, but I do play a lot of guitar. I have heard surgery on your hand (along with neck surgery, back surgery, knee surgery... etc etc) can be kind of hit and miss, but if it's permanent and there's no other solution or nothing brings relief... idk. Music, booze and masturbation... for f**ks sake!
