Targeting the person who had 2 beers at dinner is clearly going after the wrong end of the spectrum. I actually think it makes it worse. In the UAE, the legal limit was 0.0. So rather than having 2 beers, everyone had 6 because you're fucked either way.
surprised that every single person you know drives a car....do any of them take a passenger to the bar?...you must know the same people pr knows?... your own circle of friends driving around risking other's lives is only 1 circle out of the millions out there......there are many people out there obeying the law melia....2 things....don't fucking get into a car when the driver has had a second or third drink in a short time and you are not allowed to disagree with me...forum rules
Oh please shut the fuck up. I am sure you've gotten behind the wheel after more than a few drinks. Stop being a fucking hypocrite.
keep guessing at statistics......your passion for the beer bars is well known....your view comes from there....try for once to think like someone else
where I live there is no police...if you want police you have to phone them and then they get on a ferry an maybe an hour later you have pissed off popo on the island....they do not like coming here.... so yes....I have drive around the island over the limit...I would NEVER drive on the mainland after even 1 drink..... they crucify you up here for drunk driving.... cost my buddy 20 thousand dollars to get his licence and ride back...not too mention 4800 a year for insurance for 5 years.... now he pays me to drive him around because he knows I wouldn't drive drunk on the open road it isn't worth it......
Doesn't 0.8 limit means you can drink 1 or 2 beers and still drive afterwards without breaking the law? If you want to drink more than 2 beers (or something else with alcohol) you get the proper way of transport. It is that simple. Same with driving around stoned: Oh yeah it is so nice, fun and relaxing and people I know used to do it all the time, so I must do it too and people who want to make that illegal are stupid law abiding and gubberment loving sheep who change in their freedoms for a sense of safety! Look people, if you're in area where the roads are empty in the evening and at night and you know the route etc. yes: you can drive after 2 joints or maybe 5 beers (or maybe even the combo) and have a fun and save time doing it. But this is not always the case. Sooo do they have to make a law then that says if the roads are this empty or if it is past 10 pm (best one actually imo) or if you drive a route you know then it is ok to be more intoxicated? Sounds real handy to enforce! If you have to drive you just limit your intake. If not: you're the retard here.
Rolling is right on this one, there would be a fair chunk of the population that have never done it In my lifetime I've probably only been drunk three or four times, and that being decades ago. I hate alcohol - particularly the way people smell when drunk, cant stand it So a fair chunk of the population that are unlikely to ever drink "more than a few" regardless of whether they then get behind the wheel or not
Well my point is you aren't risking anyone's life by driving around after 1 or two drinks, youor reaction time would probably be slower from lack of sleep than it would from 2 beers.
I think that's the whole key, WHICH is included in the law (at least here in the netherlands): you're not drunk after 2 beers. Unless of course one hardly ever drinks and happens to indulge in 3 bottles of fine beer and steps right behind the wheel: in most cases nothing will happen then either, but there are these circumstances (when such a person is already tired for example, or when it is very warm) that it can influence a person harder than they thought. Here it also applies: if the road is quiet and everybody acts normal nothing might happen dozens of times... but when it happens to be busy or an unexpected situation happens and one has to respond quickly and they don't because they had one beer too many (hey what does it matter)... So yeah, we just need to use our brains (which we don't all the time, which is one of the reasons there are such laws regarding public safety). This is why we can't have nice things
No one should be driving under the influence of anything, period. If you want to risk your own life drive on your property only. That includes weed, booze narcotics or prescription meds. A drunk driver almost killed my parents, if my father had not spun the car into the guard rails to slow them down they would have been dead. The other passenger in another car was not so lucky as she is now paralysed. The drunk got out and stumbled around, unharmed. I was in my own car following my parents to a family gathering. No excuses and no reason to risk lives.
