"Dude" best word ever?

The word "Dude" is a dreadful word it just sounds pathetic. Words that are designed soley to sound cool are just pointless and they don't achieve that intention.

<SNORT>...I was called "dude" once and I didn't know whether to fall on the floor laughing....or puke.

I am no"dude" or "dudette"......

When I hear kids use it, they usually are using it to express numerous things.....and using it in about EVERY sentence they utter....or like dude, they like use it for every other word dude. And like DUDE..it starts to totally get on your last nerve duuuude and your standing there holding onto your bleeding ears yelling DUUUUUDE stop, or my ears are going to fall off my head. And their looking at you like Dude what is your problem????

 

i said dude to my teacher and trust me..you never want to do that..lol...peace

 

Yes because teachers tend to be intelligent and take humbrage at silly words like that. I would find the word insulting, but for the fact I just tend to find it ammusingly innept.

 

I call my mom dude...i wish people wouldn't insult the word dude, its radical. People who insult it take life way to seriously, chill dudes chill

Well it certainly isn't radical in any sense. The only thing worse than the word dude is when people use the word 'radical' in such a silly context. It is like describing a biscuit as the personification of human greatness.

if you honestly believe if someone says the word "dude" that they are any less intelligent than you or they are 'inept', you need to get your head checked, Dude!!

 

It became a daily part of my vocabulary after Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure came out..what WOULD we do without the word dude??

I never said using the word "Dude" indicated a lack of intelligence. It does however suggest that a person is less than articulate. The word is inept, not the people using it. But there is nothing wrong with speaking like a human being rather than a Ninja Turtle.

I am a fan of the English language and find it galling when ghastly words like "Dude" or when people write "Da" instead of "The" I think it shows little respect to the recipitent of those words.
