i actually do see how there is a comparison and i have heard it before so no she is not the only one. - to :guerillabedlam
Hmm.. I don't recall ever saying that classic rock uses, or used wah-synths. I made an abstract comparison of the two genres according to the similar "wobble-wah" sounds. But I do remember you saying a little something to the extend of... And that demo just so happens to surpass that point. It's even hooked up to a guitar, for fucks sake. x)
How does that surpass the point I didn't hear any music or dubstep in that demo, it was just some dude dicking around with some effects pedals Certainly nothing remotely resembling any sort of classic rock I've heard... and you failed to pull me up a sample of such classic rock.

I don't understand why everyone says dubstep is just "weeee weeee wah wah wub wub" I could take any rock and roll song and say it's just "bow bow bum bum juggah. juggah. BAAAAAAAWWWW" Trying to type sounds is obviously going to look retarded and it's quite clearly a childish or idiotic thing to do. As far as dubsteps roots, it's not from drum and bass or dub it's actually derived from 2-step and garage which are in the same 130-145 BPM(beats per minute) range. Those of you who don't like dubstep in this thread sound like old men and women who complained about rock and roll. Those of you who like it don't seem to know much outside of Skrillex as I keep seeing his stupid name popping up. Either way, both parties don't seem to know much about the genre. I, for one enjoy dubstep every now and then as long as it's not the fast and aggressive stuff you hear on every 16 year old girls ipod. I enjoy the more deep and gritty meditative stuff which is closer to the genres roots, such as this: http://soundcloud.com/ghostnotenz/ghost-note-oracle-clip
Kryptic Minds, Ghost Note, Percept, Sparxy, Reamz, Skream, Benga. Start from there and branch off of all of the Youtube videos on the sidebar. Some really amazing labels are Innamind Recordings, Deep Medi, Hench, and Bacon Dubz. Hope this helps

The mainstream incarnations of dubstep are obnoxiously hard to ignore and very painful for many to listen to. Unfortunately because of that stigma associated with it a lot of people ignore the offshoot styles of bass music gaining ground on the east coast of the US and in the UK where a more underground circuit is pushing the sound in a very different direction. Producers are shying away from the electro and big room tearout noises for those of house, dub, techno, ambient, hip hop, and garage/2-step influences that are inherent to dubstep's beginnings. Diverging paths in bass music led to subgenres with names like "future garage" "space bass" and "post-dubstep". Last weekend this kind of music was featured in BBC radio 1's essential mix with Hotflush recording's founder Scuba. If you want to get an idea of what direction that music is going in you should check it out on soundcloud. I hate it how dubstep has got so fucked around. Someone who doesn't know much about it will just think it's a load of high pitched whining sounds. That's Brostep! Not Dubstep! Dubstep is deep, with lots of sub bass, and generally chill. BTW Nice links up there Omactl. Check out Phaelah too :sunny: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZchpUBfhrA
