    candle wax, tut tut!

washing up liquid is good for wax removal,, but it might also untangle things...

I feel for you man, how is it going? Did you try the iron or dishwashing soap?

Haven't tried it yet, been at college all day ;) I really don't want to try it, if it's gonna loosen any progress:(

If washing up soap means dishwasher soap, it won't untangle things.
If anything it'll tangle things some more.

What about that green jelly stuff...crap I can't think what it's called now. You know, it's what you'd wash car grease off your hands with. I know it wouldn't melt the wax, but maybe if you got the wax as melty and liquidy as possible first then used the jelly stuff...oh what the hell's it called?! - well anyway that might help I suppose.
I'm sure it will all eventually come out tho...you don't wanna go wrecking your dreads with crazed wax-removal attempts...
Are your dreads very long? I guess if they were only a few inches, then waiting until they're longer and then trimming off the wax bits could be a possible last resort? Eeek
