My fiance has been having a problem with dry, cracked skin on his penis the last week.
When his penis is soft, he says it doesn't hurt at all and you can't really tell it's dry or cracked. Then when he gets hard, you can definately tell. Also, when I stroke and go downward and pull skin, he says it hurts quite a bit.
We really can't figure out what is causing this.
We let him((the penis)) have a few days off to heal completely, and my fiance said it felt fine today even when hard and when I was stroking downward. Then, after sex, back to dry and cracked skin and hurting.
We're kind of wondering if it may have something to do with my stuff being thicker due to my second depo shot, and when I get wet it really doesn't get outside.
That, and also wondering about the lube we use. I can't remember brand right now, but it's flavored lube found in Spencer's. I hurt for a little while where the lube was applied after sex, but not nearly as long as he has.

I've had that problem. My girlfriend isn't on the depo so I don't think it's that. I just asummed to much sex/masterbating and I gave it a couple weeks off and then I was fine.

it could be the lube---> i worked in a porn store and learned that anything that's NOT waterbased lubricant isn't safe. Usually flavoured lube isn't. I assume they have the O'My products where you live, they're all natural and they have a good assortment. Try that next time. Hope i could help! :)

We were also kinda curious whether any lotions or anything would help it along. Like regular lotion for cracked skin or anything.

if you're going to try lotion, i would suggest soemthing like Vaseline Intensive Care (lotion...not the gelly stuff), don't use anything with perfume and added fragrence b/s. And don't get it in the urethra that'll probably hurt lol. And you probably wont want to have sex after he uses it, it might iritate you. If you want to try lotion, give it a few days of repeated use then see what happens. If it's really that big of a concern, maybe he should go to the dr's or a pharmacy...im sure they have better info than me  lol

We have been putting just regular lotion on it and it seemed fine till we had sex last night then it started hurting then this morning he looked fine. We waited a week to have sex. And he seemed fine perhaps a warm-hot bath will do perhaps tonight when he comes back to my place. I think he's getting a bit frustrated with it though cause we wanna be able to be a spur of the moment type thing and yeah its not quite working out.

He wears boxers and he didnt hurt till after we had sex one night... All my stuff down there is thicker because Depo-Provera thickens Vaginal Fluids thats why we was useing lube to begain with but i didnt get real thich till after my 2nd shot thats when we started having problems so i feel like i am to blame when he said i am not.

I'm having this exact same problem. My girlfriend and I didn't know what to make of it... still don't, really. She's also on Depo, although the idea that that was the cause never occurred to either of us. It's really strange... it'll heal itself (over a week or more, sometimes), then we have sex, and then its painful and it's like the skin tears open from pulling on it during sex... Then it's another week or so while it heals, etc, etc...

I've made a doctor appointment to check it out. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Looks like this post is pretty old... find anything out yourself Danielle (or anyone else)?

as far as lube goes, anything with a high amount of glycerin will cause a yeast infection if you don't clean up well enough down there. for cuts and chaffing on the penis leaveit for two weeks. no sex. no masturbation. moisturize. if that doen't do it go to a doctor to figure it out. or go to one now.

Well, I went to the doctor... they gave me a cream which is supposed to heal it and strengthen the skin... but they did not really have a good idea as to why it happened in the first place. They are supposed to check on me in a week to see how its going, so we'll see what they have to say...

by any chance have you had an yeast infection lately? Men can get them, and if you had one then I'd really say that could be what it is, as you can trade them back and forth.

Well, she hasn't had one since I've been with her (if ever) and I don't know if I got one or not. If I have had one, then I didn't know it. The doctor didn't really seem to have any ideas towards the cause other than that maybe it got damaged during "vigorous" sex once and has then never really healed, and that the skin has remained weakened.

That was her theory, anyway, but reading online has shown some people suggesting a yeast infection just like you did. This cream is supposed to heal and strengthen the skin so that it will get back to normal more quickly, I guess the theory being that once it's totally healed that it will not happen again. I did notice that normally it can take like a week for the "tears" to really look like they are healing, but after just one application of this cream the rips had mostly closed up and you would hardly even guess there was anything wrong with it from looking, and the pain was entirely gone... amazing stuff!

I just hope this does the job permanently...

dont think the shot has anything to do with the problem cause my ex was on the shot for 4 years and we never had this problem. We used to be very actvie sexually like everyday somtimes 2 times a day, never got sore like that but if yall are just "jumping in" so to speak instead of maybe taking time for for-play,this might be the reason...just a thought......For-play = women more sassified........and i agree with Advaya about it could be the yeast infection...this is true

Well, foreplay or no, lubricant or no, the situation exists. We often use plenty of K-Y so there is really no problem of too much friction or of her not being wet enough.

Also, this cream has definitely helped it heal faster, which is all by itself a huge blessing... it's just a matter of it staying away now, I guess...

Another few days on the cream, then a week or so off of the sex... then we'll see!
