oh my god dude, are you serious? how old are you? i'm assuming that you're around 30ish, so why do you get a kick out of this?
you were being an ass, flat out, i was just stating it. to me, it doesn't matter the situation. if someone is being an ass (and you have been on various occasions) i'm going to point it out. i'm not getting in between the two of you, why you still think that, i have no fucking clue.
and yes, i know i'm entitled to it, and apparently you're apart of that line, because you're keeping this (well, god damnit, now I am...) stupid flamewar going.

i dont just smoke to get high man.... i got weed on me in school yes. but i nvr show anyone or tell anyone about it. i act like i got nohting on me to no one.. dude its for personal use.. and its more of a spiritual thing... i read philosohy books and psycology stuff, i listen to music, play the guitar, write songs. think about how there are so many types of people, watch lennon documentarys. starting to read about buddhism. oh and i also paint, and draw... i mean am i really committing a crime? i work, and go to school... i just like to smoke a little bud to make me more creative... i mean honestly, i truley believe i have not commited a crime. as far as court gos, i cant afford a lawyer so i hope they will issue me a free public attorney.. i have to take rehab for marijuana... <-- is this a fucking joke? w/e though... i was planning on taking a road trip for the summer.. then take some community college classes.. but now im pretty fucked... even community colleges wont give me financial support now...u have no idea how poor i am man.. w/e though, wish me luck.

Jared- I'm sorry that your life is completely screwed up, but folks in charge just don't share your values and some in authority will go out of their way to screw your life up and do a happy dance over it. It has always been that way and it's why some folks are willing to come off as complete tools trying to impress on you the importance of taking into account potential pitfalls of decisions like- whom you hang out with and front money to, whether you bring drugs and/or paraphenelia to school... the fact is that some decisions can have dire consequences that will dog you the rest of your life. I guess you're finding that out and I'm sorry that you have to learn things the hard way, like most of the rest of us.

The thing is that most of us get no charge out of seeing you go through this because you seem to be a genuinely decent giving person who would do just about anything for a friend- the kind of person who might hand over his last dollar so someone else might not go hungry. I do hope that this doesn't wind up on your record but it seems that your fate is in someone else's hands at this point... someone who likely doesn't share your live and let live attitude.

No it's NOT a joke. If you're so far gone you'll carry coke-laced knives to school and have dope on you at all times, you DO need rehab. Maybe alcohol is legal to possess and drink, but if I bring it to work I'm fired, and if I drink before I go to work, there's 12 step meetings in my future. PS I don't drink.

Well said, and I've said this much too. Jared, you're a nice kid but you're naive and dim, which is not an insult, you're a smart kid in a lot of ways, a kind and gentle soul. You would not survive jail, you keep getting ripped off and your judgment calls are highly questionable. That's why I was constantly saying lay off the dope, please for the love of God.

It always seems to amaze me how much hippies complain about the govt. and law, and how little they seem to know. I'm in a pretty bad mood today, but nonetheless, no offense meant.

They don't have the right to search a car... OFF SCHOOL GROUNDS. There was a decision (maybe Near vs. Minn.?) that determined that anybody that may disrupt the educational process (that means comitting a crime on school grounds) may be searched, etc.

 

Also, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

There is a time and a place for everything, the time is not before school and the place shouldn't be in your car.......you brought this all upon yourself which every drug user does know......with being a stoner, cokehead, acid freak....I DONT CARE....risks are involved and anything that invovles to you is brought upon yourself

first off, i had no idea the knife was in my car it probbly fell out of his pocket. maybe he planted it there, i dunno. but he dint do coke in my car. its my fault for bringing someone who does coke into my car in the first place.
anyways..this may sound stupid but... it was illegal for black people and women to vote at one time, and it was LEGAL to have black people as slaves, illegal for black people to sit in the front of the bus. just because its the law does it mean its right? i think the laws need to change. and for the laws to change someone has to stand up to the system. its a free country, i say pro-choice. anyways hopefully i can persue my dream of 1 day traveling all over the world. Experiencing life as i live it. maybe gain some knowledge on why people act the way they do, and hopefully i can be remembered ( which is my ultimate dream ) maybe be remmbered through my music, or art, or just doing good stuff, and being a role model to people, like lennon was, and martin luther king, or anyone. This experiance was just a speed bump in my life. Hopefully i wont have to go to an alternative school or jail with REAL criminals who beat up people, and rob people, with rapists and murderers and people who make everyone lives around them suffer. Maybe i belong in jail, since im such a threat to society. anyways wish me luck with this.

Jared, you're an adolescent. When you're a teenager, you ask these "Big" questions, you rail against that which is unfair, and we adults love you for it. However, you can't lose sight of the fact that though it may be ludicrous you can be incarcerated for YEARS over this scenario - if you are caught, arrested and convicted, yes you WILL be bent over a jailhouse bunk and made Big Bubba's girlfriend. You can't lose sight of the fact that there are very real realities you gotta contend with.

You are not Rosa Parks, and there will be no stirring speech that will change the law. There's decades of prior convictions, multibillion dollar pressures from pharmaceutical and chemical companies, etc. working against you.

That is an illusion.

First question at customs and immigration: "Have you ever been convicted of drugs?" Answer YES and you're on a plane home. I have friends back in Canada that cannot shop at the Wal Mart just over the border for a roach in an ashtray in the 70s.

In essence you are threatening the society- by refusing to adhere to its laws, you are challenging its authority. And believe me, the state will do what it can to slap that back down.

I have no experience on either side of this coin - I hate LEOs with a passion, and am no crook (because of not wishing to end up underneath a well endowed inmate far stronger and scarier than I, though I be strong and scary) but suffice it to say good luck and keep us posted.

 

Sounds like a misdemeanor bust, so you'll probably skate. The Mayor of Chicago is in favor of decrimimalization and according to this article almost all marijuana cases in Chicago are dismissed.

I 99.9% guarantee you're not going to jail. Even real criminals don't spend much time in jail, and they're not gonna send a suburban white boy to jail on a petty school yard bust.
Sounds like they ran up the charges a bit to scare you, but at most they'll plea you out and you'll spend a Saturday picking up trash (community service).
Don't waste your money on a lawyer, a pay lawyer will only make your charges look more serious than they are, so they can play big hero and justify their exorbitant fee. Go to a free legal clinic (Chicago Volunteer Legal Service Foundation for example), or talk to someone with a similar experience. The word on the street in Albuquerque is to go to the first court date and plead not quilty, and get a second date. Many times the police don't show up for the second date and you skate. Also in Albuquerque it is best to show up without a public defender, that way even if the police show up, the DA has to cut you a no-contest deal, and you get the community service after the judge asks you if you have anything to say (Say "I have a job and I'm doing well in school and i've never been arrested before, and i'm real sorry"). But this is the way it is done in Albuquerque, i think they are secretly happy you didn't waste a public defenders time. It might be different in Chicago, they might be pissed if you show up without any legal rep. Try to find someone with hip legal advice, ask around a bit.

 

There's possession, then there's having cocaine, a weapon, etc. on hand.

Trust me, the LEOs may very well run this up into charges you can't skate from.
