I agree. It's beyond me as to why people insist driving high is acceptable. I don't know why it has less stigma than drunk driving. If you want an honest opinion, I think that people who think driving stoned is okay are young, irresponsible, or naive. If you notice on these forums, you'll see alot of "I'm not 16, but I think I can drive just the same" or "I drive all the time and its fine" and "I've never gotten into an accident" posts. These don't change the fact that you're less capable of driving when stoned than sober. The whole driving stoned thing is about the only thing embarasses me about the toking community. PS- I suspect joker-man has known a couple of friends whose lives ended around a telephone pole, like me. It changes your outlook on driving and consequences.
hahaha i dont drive fast, like i always drive 5 under the speed limit when im high just cause if i go too fast i feel like im on that fucking Mission to Mars ride at Disneyworld where you spin really really fast and its supposed to feel like youre lifting off to space in a rocket haha
I would never drive on anything. Not just for the fact that if there was an accident and I was tested and found with stuff in my blood or the fact that it is irresponsible whether I drive better stoned or not but also because my town is small, im recognised easily and its one of the biggest coke towns in the country so theres enough DS to cover every road going out of town
When im high and driving i drive uber slow. Im more attentative as well. but its different for everyone im sure.
Those of you that think it is irresponsible, that's your opinon. I drive no differently after blazing, weed doesn't have that effect on me. If you think being on any drug while driving is irresponsible, then how about all of the people that have a cup of coffee on the way to work, or truckers eating caffeine pills like candies, and chasing them with redbull in order to meet deadlines?
smokin definitely has more of an impact on driving than caffeine but not nearly to the degree of alcohol - i can function completely normal when i decide to drive high and if i cant, then im gonna chill before i start drivin
actually no.. i don't know anyone that was close to me that has died in an accident due to drug use.. it's just a matter of being responsible.. but if these kids here want to continue to bitch and whine as to why marijuana is not legal and still feel that its "ok" to drive high.. then they outta just stfu and deal with the fact that nothing is going to become legal by being irresponsible marijuana users
really? i do agree however that truck drivers do do some very irresponsible things to get to deadlines on time.. like taking "legal speed".. also truck drivers must log their hours.. if they are resorting to "pick me ups" its because they are illegally driving by going beyond their allotted time on the road..
Still, just like there is a level of intoxication, regarding alcohol, where it's still legal and considered safe to drive, the same could be said of marijuana.
way to take the moral highground if you are too stupid to misjudge your ability to drive a motor vehicle while high, then you deserve to die(or whatever damage may be caused). however, there are some people that can drive while high and it really isn't a problem...especially those that understand their limits.
and how does one properly determine the level in which marijuana is safe and unsafe?.. marijuana is not clearly labeled like alcohol.. its not like you can go "oh this marijuana has this much THC per hit/bowl" sure you can retort with "well if you know the strain" non-sense.. because levels of THC depend on ideal growing conditions... marijuana is illegal.. therefor.. growing conditions are often far from ideal.. and therefor the level of THC is unknown
that's why i said knowing your limits, because no one else(or a BAC test) will be able to tell you when it's safe to drive you should be able to judge whether or not you can manage a vehicle
This should be motivation enough to stop. We've both been the unpopular opinion on these types of threads, but I get exactly where you are coming from. Also, I was refering to having friends die in traffic accidents. My point was that you see so many of these children claiming that "they drive fine" and that they can handle their shit. The next sentence, they liken driving to mario kart. Most of them aren't even off their parents insurance. All it takes is seeing one crash, losing traction once, not seeing the light change once, having a friend hurt, and driving becomes a much heavier responsibility
