I don't have a Bug, but I feel the same way about Neons. :) I geek out every time I see one and I always tell my husband about seeing one like it's the most important thing I've done all day.

RainyDayHype…. there are soooo many bugs in Mexico. It's probably one of the most popular cars in Ixtapa. We played a game by taking a picture of every Bug we saw…. so my album has a bunch of them. I'll find one if I can and post it to you, my old laptop died though so this will be a task. Anyway, a lot of the Mexican surfers have them and put their boards on top ;)

    Hello,

some trivia for those of you who are interested in analog circuits: Bob Pease swore on his 69 (IIRC) beetle and... died in it two years ago.

    Regards

I get a lot of them in the shop, not sure why but I do. And dune buggies. The older ones are pretty cool but they just seem so fragile.. it's like working with some ancient relic.

I don't care for the new bugs, no offense. They're a bit girly. I love the old bugs. They're cheap, basic cars. Nazi engineering at its finest lol.

i've noticed all cars generally have a "car club" where when you pass someone else driving the same car everyone gets excited and waves or honks.

I used to drive a mitsibushi eclipse. I hated that car after the first few months - its a really shitty car, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There was a definite car club with that car and it was all too fast too furious teenage boys with horrible taste in cars. i hated it when they would honk at me and try to bring me into their club.

I drive a mazda miata now. it is definitely an enthusiasts car so I get the honk or wave pretty frequently from other miata drivers. It doesn't annoy me like it did with the eclipse. Miatas are good, basic cars just like the O.G. vw bugs.

never been in old bug, driven in and driven new one, nothing special to me. i think maybe some of you guys say they are unsafe as you drive in the US in europe, and rest of world, a lot of the cars ARE smaller, smaller than even the bug, roads arent as big through towns in a lot of these places. USA is pretty new country especially further west u go with newer infrastructure.

volvos ARE a very safe car. know from experience.

With a bug you're more likely to be in the repair shop than you are actually driving it.
