A new form of rap has been linked to rising violent crime in London. 'Drill' is slang for automatic weapons. The music is sparse, bleak and nihilistic. I don't know how anyone could listen to this for pleasure, but I suppose it is a representation of life in British inner cities for impoverished minorities, who feel that no one cares, and that that the only chance they have to make money is from music or football: Is UK drill music really behind London's wave of violent crime?
Just saw this on the news. In my opinion, music is an expression of the situation, whether it be political or social, not the cause.
