No offense taken, barefootjaime. Few Americans travel outside of the borders of their country, so many tend to have a parochial view. I just try to broaden the horizons of those who post here whenever it seems warranted.

Well, I for one would love to travel outside of this country, but now they keep making it increasingly difficult. I was planning on getting my passport once I could afford the $75 fee. Now my friend just told me they doubled the fee. Not sure yet if this is true or not.

Definitive proof that bare feet and formal dress is the epitome of hip and cool:

OK, OK... I will give you that one. Paul is the MAN, and he could probably pull off walking down the street in tar and feathers if he wanted to...lol

I agree. I feel kind of self-concious being too dressed up and barefoot. Most of the time, in warmer weather, I wear shorts and some Tshirt. The closer I get to "dressed up" is wearing Thai fisherman pants and some kurta.

I am also a musician as well, so when I perform, I like to dress mostly in black, with collarless not tucked in shirt and long wide pants.

The winter is a problem for me, because I was born in a warm climate. I usualy go for wool kurtas, fleece pants and those south-American hoodies.

Bare feet go with everything. Learn to think outside the box.

I agree with you, that's why I don't even wear jacket's anymore. I think it looks absurd to wear a jacket with bare feet. I usually just wear fleece or pajama pants and a sweatshirt or hoodie with a t-shirt underneath. If it's just a tad bit warmer I will wear a long sleeve shirt with a t-shirt on top (usually a tye dye).

I sorta forgot this, but 2 people I know really feel that a guy wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt and a leather jacket, combined with jeans is hot.....just throwing that out there.

I think bare feet look fine with just about anything, not much different to bare hands when you think about it.

I used to feel I'd rather be caught dead than wearing shorts. Later, when it really got hot I began to relax that view. The pendulam swung again last summer and I could not see wearing shorts. It was jeans through the summer.....weird but from a self image point of view it was jeans only....and barefoot of course.

I don't see what's wrong with shorts. I wear them from March until December, until it gets so cold that I can no longer stand it. Nothing against the way jeans look, it's just how restrictive they are. I need to be free, plus when it's 80 or 90 degrees out, why would I want to sweat my ass off?

Come to think of it, in the summer I only wear 2 articles of clothing. Beach shorts and a t-shirt. Well, 3 if you count my hat...lol

There's nothing wrong with wearing shorts, just not everybody's preference.

I agree that if it's super hot I'll dig around to find a pair of shorts but it's rare. Maybe because I've been spending more time in the city, I dunno.

Nope. In the summer I don't wear underwear because the beach-type shorts sort of have a netting built into them in place of underwear. The only real purpose I see for underwear is an extra layer of warmth in the winter.

I don't wear them in the winter either. I see how long johns would act as a layer, but not so much regular boxers so I figure, why bother.:)
