When I was living in Africa, I would find small chameleons crossing the dirt road on my way home from school. I brought them home in my pocket and put them in the tree outside my window. Rhonso is huge! He really looks great. :)

Are you sure they don't look like this?

thanks he is a healthy boy

yea veiled chams can get pretty big. you're probably talking about african or flap-neck chams...maybe a leaf cham... terrestrial species...

veiled chams come from the middle east area and are tree dwellers.

ever seen a jackson's or panther chameleon? they are so awesome. i would like to breed panthers but chams are so high maintenance anyways i dont think i could take care of more than two at a time...:cheers2:

Yep I'm an idiot that's for sure...or maybe I just have an opinion that differs from that of your own and you cannot cope with that?

I've already addressed the "animal shelter" excuse, besides how many people adopt from them anyways? The majority of pet owners?

I'm done with this conversation though...I try to voice my opinions and listen to others but it seems as though you view me as some kind of an opposition towards your way of life and as a result began personal attacks.

    Dum dum dumb...?

Excuse? How is adopting an animal that has been abandoned/ abused a bad thing? You really are an idiot, and it's not because you have a different opinion, it's because you're idiot. Every animal I have ever had has been adopted or saved, and MANY other people adopt as well, so to just dismiss that is unheard of.

As for your rage on leashes, there are a lot of dogs who can walk with their owners without leashes, but as dreadhead said, leashes are mostly for the DOGS safety.

You keep dismissing everything that everyone is saying because you think you have this 'brand new', magical theory on how people shouldn't have pets because for some reason you think it's demeaning to their pride.

Well let me tell you one thing, if I didn't have my animals, odds are they all would have been put down a long time ago, and if you think them being dead is better then them living a HAPPY life, filled with attention and love, then you sir, are a sick individual. :)

    Wow Sea monkey's look ace!!

If everyone thought like you and decides to let their pets free. The world would be overrun with animals. Also about 90% of the time pets are dumped at shelters because the owners allowed the dog to be dominant. If people taught leadership there would be a dramatic drop in surrendering pets resulting in a drop of euthanising animals as more space is available.

The reason why you are getting bashed is because we geniunely love our pets. I can see where you stand in examples of people treating chihuahuas like babies as that is just self indulgence on the humas part. But I, Chaos and NP treat our dogs like dogs and they're happy. If my dog is unhappy, he's more than welcome to run away but, he won't leave the garden without my permission. :D

bthizle, have you read Life of Pi? you really should. At least learn a little more about animals in captivity. as long as the animals have enough space, they are HAPPIER in captivity than they would have been in the wild, because they have a familiar home and a consistent supply of food.

When did I say that adopting from an animal shelter was a bad thing? Please do me one favor and STOP putting words in my mouth. I said excuse because not all pet owners adopt from an animal shelter, in fact the vast majority do not. If you had read my previous post you would have known what I said, rather than making a false accusation. I never once dismissed that, in fact right after that one lady brought the animal shelter fact to the table (that was what she had done) I said it was better than euthanasia.

And no, it's not a brand new magical theory, it's an opinion...are we not all entitled to them? Demeaning to their pride? Yeah, that's exactly why I said I don't like the notion of pets....wow...for the second time please actually read what I have to say rather than apparently reading a few sentences and coming to a self concocted conclusion of my intentions.

I have yet to dismiss a single thing that someone has said, I find it to be the other way around, in particular with you.

I never said anything remotely close to that....in fact I said the complete opposite, but if it makes you feel better to think that I said that then go ahead, as you certainly don't seem to have a problem with putting words in my mouth.

I never said that's the solution. In fact the only solution is to continue to have "pets" only stop things such as abuse etc...There's simply too many domesticated animals at this point for there to be any other viable option.

The only real statement I ever really made in regards to the whole "anti pet" deal was that I don't like the notion of a human having ownership over another animal. I'm perfectly fine with companionship and actually would encourage it. You guys are acting like I'm attacking you...which is odd, because I feel like you're resorting to ad hominem.

Hahaa....not a big fan of fights, but I'd love to wrestle in pudding.

Seriously though, for the last time I mean no offense to anyone in this thread...as I said before if there are to be pets (and there is) I'd MUCH rather have you guys be "having" them than anyone else.

good deal. I prefer monosyllabic terms, like "pet"

easier to say and requires less outside interpretation.

but please, proceed in making our lives more difficult while children starve in sub-Saharan Africa.
