aw such a shame, my dad had rescue gs that bit someone previously but he never has hurt any of us and hes had him 8 yrs now. Some dogs get so badly treated by their owners it takes alot of work to 'get them back on track'. Dreadhead it must of been so hard but in a another way you did good, giving him to someone that could train him and give him plenty of time
Thanks Chemigals it was an awful decision. He was "much loved" by his last owners who only ever rang once in the whole time we had him. We didn't know his temperament or anything. He was like your dad's GS wouldn't dream of hurting me or my husband, but he was getting really over protective of me :s. We loved him so much and knew that if we gave him to a rescue centre, he wouldn't have a hope in hells chance of finding a home and would probably have been put to sleep by now. So we got in touch with a guy who takes "problem" dogs and trains them for specialist jobs. I think he needed to be worked really I'm really chuffed that he's become a working dog though. He's definately got a "third chance" at life. We've now got a beautiful well behaved GS pup now. Things worked out for us all. Sometimes, I still leave little messages on his dogbook profile.
I've heard a story from my boyfriend and he says the the father of Gucci who is German Shepard bit a white lady because she was white now whether this is true or not I don't know but I've notice most dogs bite people because people fuck with them. so I really don't think a dog should be blamed one bit for biting someone. like with my dog Luna she is super protective of me she growls(hair stands up on her back and she shows her teeth and Gucci is picking this up from her) anytime someone comes in my room but she has never bitten anyone.
Well balanced dogs generally don't do stuff like that. But you do get fear biters like my old dog who bite anything because they are scared due to no socialisation So you don't always have to mess with a dog to provoke it.
yeah I do understand that but I was thinking more about the well trained dog instead of fear biters I guess I didn't put into consideration the fear biters sorry
Maybe she did something Gucci's dad didn't like. I've heard stories that some dogs hate people in hats stuff like that. Shame all these dogs these days that have a bad reputation
I can account for dogs hating hats Luna absolutely does not like hats she will go insane if someone walks into the room with a hat on doesn't matter if she knows them or not
Cat and DOG! cat = "DC" shes really mean to every one now, ever since she got neutred. and declawed. she also had to go to the animal hospital cause she swallowed like 3 feet of ribbon.... this is a pic i got of her before, but i dont have the original or a one on the comp so i took one that we have framed. Here are my two "kittens" (they're quite big now really but I still think of them as kittens of course). Scribble is the tabby and the grey and white is Pixel They always sleep in funny positions. Scribble sticks his tongue out a lot, and it cracks me up every time... ...and I can't believe Pixel is actually comfortable in some of his positions... ...perhaps he got bored of licking his bumhole and fell asleep half way through lol
Cute amy, I love cats. I miss my English cats sooo much. Are they siblings or what? They seem very friendly with each other!
Yeah they're brothers and they're a bit too friendly with each other! They snog a lot, and Pixel occasionally tries to shag Scribble while he's sleeping
