That dog just loved the way cats tasted I swear once a week wed clean out carcasses from the kennel. My neighbors had a cat infestation no lie like 40 cats outdoors so theyd always impregnate each other and kept my dog fed when they felt frisky and played along the top of his fence

BTW this is why I say chows are aggressive because we raised that shit from a pup and it got huge and my brother was trying to brush its hair hit a knot and bam the dog snapped and bit the fuck outta my bro we had to euthanize the dog was sad shit i was only 5 i remember asking what happened to my dog and my parents just told me its sleeping

    HOLY SHIT!

This is yet another example of the way different dogs react differently. I think each dog has a unique personality regardless of breed.

My chow chow was sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly (theoretically speaking... he might have stepped on ants or whatever, you get my point lol), where as your chow chow bit your brother over a combing session.

Might have just been a bad day for your chow. That's horrible he got euthanized over it though :(

We had a guard german shepard dog that liked to bite, but we didn't euthanize him until he was super old and in pain 24/7. (my mom hated him, but I was like 5 and he was always super nice to me.... must've liked kids I think). Never hurt anyone (critically anyways..... he just bit people that he didn't know that walked into his territory. which if you see a dog barking and snarling at you, you should probably not walk into his territory... duh.)

I've never met a breed of dog that was anywhere near as aggressive as a human being is...

I've met aggressive dogs for sure... and in every case, if you looked at their owners (or past owners), you quickly found out why the dog was aggressive...

that hit a knot while brushing story is a great example of why pitbulls make great pets. every apbt i've ever owned/come into regular contact with LOVED it more the harder you would play with him. the more you would think it would hurt the more they love it.

one of our pups used to love when you would grab him by the cheeks and flip him over your shoulder and slam him on the ground repeatedly. if i tried to stop he would just keep dropping his head in my hands, it was one of his favorite games. even as a full grown dog he used to let me carry him around by the scruff (it would take two hands, but i could still do it)

my friends babys used to tripple team this dog. they used to all gang up and punch and hug on him and he would just eat it up, take turns pinning them down while the other 2 would wail on him. of course these kids would sneak him snacks like chicken nuggets and corndogs which he never got from me, so maybe he just didnt get too rough because he didn't want to ruin a good thing. either way, he was a great example of how big of a sweetheart this terrible breed truely are.

the breeder was telling me a story about our new pups father. she had him at a show and this biker guy came up talking to a reporter and bent over, scratched her dog, bit him on the lip and walked backwards with him a few feet. let go and looked at the lady, see now I'm a total stranger to that dog, real mean breed huh?

also maybe it was a good thing that your pup had a taste for kittuh, ferral infestation is never a good thing.

About the euthanasia he tore through the flesh on my brothers ass pretty bad to where he needed oxycodone to handle the pain my parents were expecting my little sis and they didn't want to risk him being aggressive with any other friends or family considering he had already turned once. And the thing was my dad loved that dog and played with it everyday and so did I just sometimes like anything they have minds of their own. And why stop with the pitbull talk its an interesting convo and its just opinions no one seems to hate each other and it is a pet thread.

yeah the pitbull thing has been done to death. and frankly, i am put off by some of the snobbishness and ignorance associated with this conversation. the thread goes from "pitbulls are too aggressive" to "only apbt are real pitbulls" fuck! you all are ignoring the fact that pitbulls are euthanized at an exponentially high rate compared to other breeds EVERY DAY. Every day hundreds of pitbull PUPPIES are euthanized. why? because we can't fucking understand them. we just don't get it. we over breed them for money, then throw them away when we can't sell them. or we sell them to pieces of shit that fight them, and the stereotype continues.
i love pitbulls. they are the best breed in the world. hands down.
most people should not own any animals period. i even hesitate to use the word "own".
    fuck you all. good day.

    yes

the only thing a human owns when it comes to the domestication of animals is the relationship that they share with that animal. you cant really own something that could very well just walk away and never come back.

it's what you make of that relationship that makes a great animal. not the breed.
