He's going nuts. I'm crashing at my parents for a little bit and they have two female piggles. He's in blue-ball hell.
Thats very true, the one that did stay in daycare needed attention like crazy or he would be very naughty. The one time we had 75 dogs and it was raining, all of them had to be inside the warehouse, this pit was very mad at me, because I want giving him the attention he needed, well he jumped up and bit my ear ring and came down with it, and ripped it right in half. My fault for wearing that ear ring though.. this is Dozer and I know I look horrid in the picture
Another couple dogs were fine and never hurt a fly, and always played was Rocco and Gypsy. These two were awesome, thats my Lily RIP, laying her head on Rocco! She had a thing for pits, she always loved playing with them.
here is the new man of the house. we havent thought of a name yet, but he wont come home until a few days after v-day. pure apbt, none of that bully bullshit
I just call um Bullies because I would never want to see one in a pit but to each their own. Beautiful little pup though, I anticipate updates rettyplease: I wish I had a dog.
Lol such a misconception about the American Pit its a dog as with any dog they can be aggressive, hell even chihuahuas are aggressive but it all depends on where they came from and how they were raised that defines them. Pitbulls can be passive if raised in a passive environment, or they can be hostile if raised in a hostile environment. Pitbulls that come from fighting backgrounds are bred to fight and trained all their lives to where all they know is fighting. Nowadays if you buy a pitbull you get to see the parent before purchasing and you can tell the ones who have been in fights and know if they are of a fighting pedigree. Pitbulls are great guard dogs can be sociable if raised right and they are very athletic making for a fun all around dog. Lol guinea pigs are funny i used to have one had to eat oranges alot to maintain vitamin C but he got a tumor and died. They make alot of noise and get startled easily but they chillin i like ferrets better
ill keep you guys psted, but yea, it the apbt community bully generally refers to a totally separate breed then the apbt. while most of these dogs that "have papers" and are registered are registered under the title of american pitbull terrier, they most certainly are NOT. american bully's are basically razors edge, gottiline, or gottyline (to name a few), or the respective dogs that were produced from these genetic retardations of the american pitbull terrier. papers were faked, and the well bred apbt which compose the "pedigree" of these dogs were forged and truely bred with mastif and american bulldogs to produce the large heads, wide shoulders, short stature, and basically all those "damn thats a nice pit" qualities that prevent the dog from WORKING and being a physical specimin which the breed is SUPPOSED TO BE BRED FOR. apbt, to me, only refers to a dog that will meet ADBA conformation standards, or the UKC to a lesser extent, as the UKC is the guilty party that allows these bullys to register without putting their foot down.
And, just like any dog, even a puppy that is great with other dogs may grow up to not like them so much. In the end, like you say KKing, it all comes down to the responsible owner. People have all sorts of ideas about what that even means, but understanding the historically bred traits, drives, and needs of your dog is a minimum (in my book) that a lot of people don't give two thoughts about. NP knows where I'm coming form though, the APBT needs and extra responsible owner for at least two reasons: 1) there is too much stigma against the breed already 2) they have so much freakin' energy.
Interesting and good to know. Most of the "pit bulls" in my part of town definitely don't have papers and are most likely mixed anyways, so I just call um Bullies as a general describer. :iagree:
Lol they protect their owner at all costs I dont get where you get that idea from. My cousin had one when someone tried to break into their house and the pitbull attacked the person and unfortunately had to be euthanized. Either way im not buying one for protection im buying it for looks and loyalty but they will protect if needed so its a plus.
not saying that pitbulls without papers cannot be apbt, as their are always backyard breeders that sell their pups for cheaper without papers, or that never filed for pedigrees themselves, or a low key transfer of ownership with no papers in order to avoid a first dibs clause from the breeder's contract. there are about a thousand reasons why you might not have papers for your apbt. both closed registries for apbt offer limited registration so you can still "have papers" based on your dogs appearence to be an apbt, registration is like 20 dollars, requires 2 pictures and inables you to participate in fun activities (not true compitition) for weight pull and other sporting and conformation titles. it also requires you to alter your dog because since you do not know the pedigree you do not know any genetic health of your dog and should not be breeding. and yes, they will protect their owner at all costs, but that is usually the only thing that drives them to human aggression other then poor genes or abuse. aside from that, they dont really protect property, so they dont make good guard dogs unless they feel the owner is in danger
Protecting the owner is one thing, but one of the traits bred for was the ability to be safely handled by a human while hunting or fighting. In general they are suckers for anything human (and babies and kids once it understands that they are not little animals).
Most of the Bullies in my neighborhood belong to street kids/people. Same was true when I lived in Santa Cruz and took care of this guy: We were always wondering what he was mixed with, but I think it's possible that he was just a skinny son of a bitch because isn't the red nose/toenails and amber eyes a recessive color gene?
They are suckers for people they know or people they realize that have no intention to cause harm towards their master, you cant tell me you'd jump into someones backyard that had a pitbull because that's pretty much what your saying. If they feel threatened they will do something about it as with most territorial dogs.
I wouldn't jump the fence, but I might walk through the gate, and I certainly wouldn't try to threaten one Now if it was a Chihuahua, no chance... I don't want to have to punt any pooches no matter how annoying.
nah. Well I suppose she could be part Russin Blue idk. Why do you hates them? Oh and I am not sure if you will remember but in another thread I had mentioned my puppy getting Parvo and you had commented. Well she has fully recovered and is healthy and happeh now
Im pretty sure thats a Russian Blue I used to have one when i was younger cool cat until it jumped into my chow chow chachis kennel and got eaten
