I miss being able to buy lots of local seasonal stuff. It's easy enough in summer of course, but in winter the only local veg is potatoes, cabbage and leeks and maybe some salads grown under cover obviously. If any Norwegian veggies or vegans ever come along and read this thread, please tell me how the hell you manage. Or even any with the slightest interest in shopping ethically in this country.
ive always been so intrugued by mactrobiotic diets, after knowing ppl who claimed it cured theyre cancers.. and there was a strudy in oregon where in 2 nursing homes and 2 mental hospitols they replsced all the foods with macrobiotic food that was made to look and taste the same as the regular food and in no time they were able to get 80% completely off meds, and 90% showed significant improvement in both physical and mental health ofcourse even with such great results its still not common practice to include it in healthcare sickbness equals proffitability i guess
In the health shops over here they have leaflets and things on vegan 'gathering' types of things and courses on how to grow vegan and lots of other realli interesting courses. I think I'll do one this summer, do they have anything like it in Norway? You could learn a lot and make some vegan friends to guide you if it's what you want
Yeh I'll have a look into it. It's hard to explain how poorly catered for so many different lifestyle aspects are here. The population is so low...e.g. like half the population of London in the entire country, that there is very little demand for stuff. Anything remotely specialist is imported. Import taxes are very high and therefore these things are expensive. For example, using Ecover products just isn't an option for me anymore (incidentally....laundry powder/liquid recipes anyone?). But yes, I will certainly try
these are amazing(and I'm washing cloth nappies)! http://cgi.ebay.ie/Ecoballs-Wash-La...14&_trkparms=72:1301|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
Cool. And 8 quid on ebay looks a bit nicer than the 30+ quid they were last time anyone told me anything about them!
I know they were way more expensive when I was looking for them.I got them as a wedding present though-ha,how grown up am I?!(just realised)
Im 6'1 and about 190-200 pounds and yeah I go to the gym. Dont listen to SE, he's really against the gym for some reason for another, and making snap judgements about people who go to the gym isnt cool SE, it annoys me how you say you are tolerant and a nice guy, but sometimes you really set the foundations to alienate people with your strong opinion that borderlines a personal attack, its why there seems to be this stigma around you that divides opinion. you can have your opinion by all means, but structure them better so as not to judge and attack. Just chill out man.
The media doesn't make me think or believe anything considering I dont watch or listen to any media sources. The alpha comment I made was intended to be a joke. However, I've needed strength throughout my teenage years due to the fact I used to do high intensity physical labour jobs up until recently now that I'm in university. I like to know I'm a strong being physically and should I need strength, I possess it. The "alpha status" you speak of was not made by the media or anything like that. Throughout history and for centuries before media outlets even existed, many men from different locations and cultures have always wanted to achieve high levels of physical strength. Spartans, Gladiators of Rome, Celtic warriors are a few examples and all of the previously mentioned tested themselves physically and trained to be prepared for battle. Granted I will probly never need to use my strength for those reasons, I still like to be as strong as I can because it satisfies me physically and mentally to know I am a strong human. And I dont waste money at the gym considering I work out at home and use free weights my father gave me. Way to generalize and judge.
Good for you dude , nowt wrong with a bit of weight training, shame some see it as a chance to have a pop.
