There is no such thing as dreadlock products. The dreadlock journey is a long crazy mess that slowly takes shape with minimal interference. If is not a journey to the hair salon. You don't need crochets, wax, Braids or anything else you read on the Internet. You need to throw away your comb and wait 2 years or more. Fake dreads are very obvious in their neat rows and uniform size and shape. Real dreads are also obvious. You know it when you see it. So don't spend one penny on dreadlock shampoo wax or whatever else you think you think you need. You don't need anything except patience.
Dude as long as it is your "real" hair they are real dreadlocks no matter what method you use. If you have extensions or weaves that aren't your real hair then they aren't real dreads. Given your dogmatic stance on dread formation, hygiene, and products. I'm guessing offline you get shit on a lot because your dreads are ugly and smelly. Just stop. It makes us all look bad. You are wrong. And people need to know it. Sticking your hair together with wax and chemicals is not dreads and is missing the point.
And it is just absurd that people are trying to create a market and convince ppl that something as natural and beautiful as dreadlocks are ugly and need commercial bullshit products.
I guess the dreads I have coming out of my scalp are fake. They must be an illusion because I used products to start them. I use shampoo too. It isn't specifically for dreads but I did use some for a while. Most companies making "Dread Products" are small operations based out of someones garage. If I want help someone who is starting and maintaining a small independent business how is that bad? If you want to not wash your hair or brush it more power to you. But if you happen to have dreads to the outside world you have to be twice as clean to be perceived as half as clean. People look at me like I'm a dirty slob because dipshits like you have decided that not washing their hair is a good thing. By the way when you don't wash those things out the natural oils from your scalp lubricate your hair and slow the dreading process. That gunk builds up and they look dirty, lifeless and nasty. Generally speaking they smell nasty too. Because you made that choice then people are looking at me like I did it too. C/S, Rev J
What I'd like to know is why dreadlocks make people look so attractive. Dreads that are maintained correctly anyways. Especially with glasses. *daydreams*
Try Mosalu All Natural shampoo bars. They are residue free, inexpensive and have great reviews! http://www.Etsy/shop/mosalu.com
The thing about products is it's so easy to find out what is in them. I used wax to star my dreads but I also looked online at the ingredients. Bees Wax, Black Walnut etc. On top of that I only used it once when I started them. I noticed as I palm rolled than the wax was coming off all over my hands. If it reacted that way to my body heat a hot shower should also do a number on getting it out. C/S, Rev J
