Just did my first cut, I probably should've waited until they got loads longer but I felt like trimming the ends.
Update: I know these are shitty pictures but meh I don't have a fancy camera. Anyways I am at 9 months pretty much. XD 3 more months til a year. Time flies by so fast.
They look cool but I really can't tell what they look like that close up and without context (your face) lol.
Haha, maybe one day.... I was contemplating on video chatting with all the other folks who started their dreads the same time frame as me but I probably would've back out... Also contemplating on growing out my hair and dreading my sides but I love my mohawk way too much DX
I tried to grow out my side but as it got longer it refused to separate or dread and then i realised i didn't even want to grow it out in the first place! so i cut it off again. and if i ever wanna grow it out I'll be patient and persist haha. as they say: 'yolo'! -_- so yea fuckin rock the hawk, everyone know it's the badest ass off hairstyles
Hahah, that's true. I have had my hawk for 4 yrs now? I don't remember... but it's so ingrained in my brain to shave my sides every couple months or it just feels weird....
So, I have decided to grow out my hair... or at least try to grow out my hair. I will try to take pictures every month, to document the awkward phases of hair growth haha. Maybe it might help people visualize dreading hair at short lengths and answer any questions people might have. I can't guarantee I can go through with this though as I have had my hawk for over 4 years now. So I am used to shaving my head... ugh... So if I grow out my hair and dread it should I get human hair extensions and get it to the length of the rest of my hair or just wait.. and let it grow out and then dread it.
Extensions sound like a good idea, i tried to grow out my shaved side and got frustrated with how stupid it looked. and I'm guessing growing out a mohawk you're looking at the Einstein effect haha so yea, extensions may be wise
Yeah, but they are so stupid expensive.... Also the thought of someone else's hair kind of freaks me out....
im at 3 1/2 months, backcomb method. wished i would started out with natural method. dreads r the best =)
yea it is pretty creepy to be fair...well its something you can have as a backup if you get annoyed growing it out
True that, I probably wouldn't need a lot of them either so it wouldn't be stupid expensive. I actually looked at extensions for the past couple of days and I started freaking out when I read that some of them keep the cuticles or whatever. I was thinking you keep dead skin?! >.< I don't know if I can shake that fear.... I might actually like having crazy hair sticking in all sorts of directions for a while haha. I am weird like that. I could always wear my headband to keep a semi professional look hopefully... I was working as a server with blonde sides and black dread hawk and managed to keep it semi professional with my black headband. No one knew I had blonde hair until I told people ahaha. I shaved it off though... I might take a picture tomorrow to start the documenting of silly growth.
Ew, cuticles?! i don't even wanna know how they harvest that, cus that's from the root, not just a matter of cutting it off D: I though I'd be fine with it too, but my hair never cooperates enough to stay under a clip or headband for long...great thing about hair is if it does piss you off you can always chop it off again! good luck with the journey
I know right, disgusting. Anyways thanks I have been so lazy lately... Maybe that might help with my journey.
Yay I am at a year. XD I will try to take pictures today but me being forgetful and such will probably forget....
