What a frosty reception. I think it's a bit sad that you can't accept that not everyone hates Dreadhead HQ

Well that's just my opinion fair enough if you hate them, but I do think it was unfair for you to basically tell me to shove off because of a difference of opinion. I joined to share my love of dreads not to be told to shove off because I like a mainstream brand.

in all honesty the best soap i have ever used was the dreadhead hq soap, when i washed my hair with it it would really make it lock up, and it left no residue at all, but since i ran out i havnt bought anymore just because i hear they are a bad company, but every other soap i have tried has never worked aswell as their's,

can anyone tell me if its bad for your hair or is the soap ok as im thinking of getting some more??????

hmm i am paranoid about using it now after all the bad shit ive heard,

i think ill get some dr bronners and try that,

but when i used the dhhq soap i never had to dilute it or anything, it always just washed out and left no residue or scent at all and my locks would always be really tight and clean afterwards,

can anyone here give me an idea of wots in their soap???

How do you know that though? This is the only thing you've tried-- it's all you know. There are tons of people on here with rockin dreads that have gone completely natural. :)Please don't think I'm being a smart ass. Tone is hard to put through online. I am saying this happily, respectfully, and with a smile on my face :cheers2:

The previous time I had my hair dreaded (it was about a year ago now) I used all the dreadhead stuff - I bought the kit, used the wax, backcombed randomly, palm-rolled all the time, used the lock accelerator - basically did everything they told me to on that rather ugly looking website.

I ended up removing said dreads with a comb + conditioner due to a (very) large infestation that would not come out of my hair. Upon removal I was shocked to discover that my dreads were about 50% wax. Now I didn't overwax - I was far too lazy, and only waxed randomly a few dreads at a time.

The second time I attempted was 2 weeks ago now, backcombing to start - and then no wax, nothing. I still have some of the dreadhead shampoo but when it runs out (soon) I'm gonna try dr bronners. But the basic point I'm trying to get over here is in this last 2 weeks, some of the bases of my dreads are starting to lock and they are tighter than any of the ones I had before (which I had about 4 month) when using products.

All in all I guess it's your opinion, but in my eyes having tried both methods I think that no-wax is definitely the way to go.

I am getting constant comments from my mates that I need to wax, backcomb, etc because they look bad - but to be quite honest, its only been 2 weeks, and who really gives a shit how they look so far eh :)

    how long will these last?

they promice dreads in a hurry not dread thAt last

typical consumerism throw away dreads make em quick and crapy toss em away in a year and buy new ones

i think if u have used wax u will never completly get it all out, i used a little bit over 2 years ago and if i dig deep into some of my locks i can still feel a little wax,

should i be worried, my dreads dont look waxy at all but there is no way on earth i will ever cut or trim my hair again, i am a nazarite, nah trim nah shave,

wot do you think soaring eagle???

their soap has an ingredients list on the back. it really is good shampoo, i liked it a lot. but it's expensive, and supports a company that doesn't tell the complete truth. so that's my whole beef with it.
